I know that a lot of us that go to WDW, go by car. Share you stories about your travels. I have a few. One of mine is:
We live in Chattanooga, which is about 8 and a half hours from Orlando. We left for one trip about 5am, so we could spend the afternoon in EPCOT before we checked into our Hotel. Well, we make one stop on the highway that's about an hour north of Atlanta and then we don't stop for another 4 hours in south Georgia.
After stopping my DW and DS's went to sleep. Once south of Atlanta I was making really good time. Guys will understand this, I was beating my best time ever. Well I had gotten one of those 32oz coffees at our first stop.
Someplace at around Macon I started to get that restroom feeling. Seeing as I was making great time, the roads were empty, we still had plenty of gas, and everyone was asleep. I ignored my call to nature. By the time we got to south Georgia about 2 exits before the state line and stopped. I couldn't move, I had to waddle to the restroom.
My DW just kept saying, if I've to go ,I don't care we stop right then. Like I said, it's a guy thing. We did average 70 miles an hour all the way until we got off the Florida turn pike in Lee's Burg. Yes the pain was worth it. Would I do it again, NO! That was really painful, you could hurt something!

LOL, I have shared that pain, but only once and quite similar to your sceanrio - we drove to Orlando from Virginia only once after 9/11 when our flights were canceled. Kids were much smaller then and it was my goal to start out way early in the morning (way late at night?) and drive as far as possible without waking the kids up. Well sure enough that same Starbucks effect hit me just a couple hours into the ride and I refused to pull over which would wake up my kids and wife - ultimately I just about wet my pants before I had to pull over on the side of the road waking everyone up.

Lets see 9 hours 4350 miles thats about 480mph.
Lunch in London and Illuminations before bed.
Drinks, bathrooms, and the odd snooze on the way without the need to stop.
This is normal and just about ideal.
However,
6 hour car trip through snow and ice in the UK followed by Fog in London causing a 7 hour delay, robbed at Orlando airport on arrival, the car rental place gave me a car with something not quite right with the steering.
19 hours for the same trip......230mph Still pretty good going.
Ah the joy of modern transport.
Still had a great time at WDW 8)
