I am taking my daughter to Disney World in February and she is 8 and will be 9 in March. If I want to ride lets say, Splash Mountain and she doesn't, is there a place where she can wait for me at the end of the ride?

...with another adult, right? I'm not a parent yet, and I'm not trying to judge, but I couldn't leave a 9 year old standing around by themselves at a theme park...

In Epcot there are places called "KidCot Fun Stops" where there are some supervised-by-Cast-Members activities you can drop kids off at... I don't think that any of the other parks offer such temporary day care situations...

At California Adventure they offered for me to let my daughter wait with a cast memeber at California Screaming. I declined the offer though. I couldn't imagine letting her stay there with a stranger even if it is a cast member. One thing to consider is what happens if you get stuck on the ride and your child is stuck there worring about you. This does happen we have been stuck on a ride for over an hour once.

good point that is why I want to get this information. I think she would be alright going on Splash mountain, but I wanted to find out if anyone else had this same problem and could get any good advice. I wouldn't just leave my kid with anyone and if I didn't think she could handle it I wouldn't let her do it. I was just wondering what other people have done in the past.

We've done a child swap when our kids were too little to ride where one parent can ride immeidately after anohter while the non-riding parent stays with the little ones. Many rides (not Splash) unload in a different area where they load - just something to be cognizant about. The Splash "waiting area" is quite removed from the loading/unloading platform though.

well, there are benches and such spread all throughout the parks, especially around the exits to attractions. There's also plenty of shops and street performers around to keep her entertained. outside of that, if the ride has a picture area (like splash mountain or Expedition Everest), she can watch as your picture comes up on the screen.
