So with this new task tell us what country you would add to the host of showcase's? where would it be located? why? what attractions, shops, restaurants, snacks etc. would it have?

Millennia of rich and colourful history and culture. Every type of terrain from mountains through deserts and rainforests. Fantastic monuments. Some of the best foods available on the planet. :D

A small taster available in animal kingdom.

The largest democracy in the world

Home of mowgli, Baloo and Bagheera

:D India. :D

I think it would be a squash to fit any new country around the lagoon. Perhaps a journey down a river (The Ganges) to an area outside the current lagoon. Another 360 cinema would be excellent. As for food, where to begin, India has a cuisine so rich and varied the choices would be enormous.

India would be very cool - I especially love Indian cuisine.

I'd love to see Spain also because I also love the cuisine. I think there is probably room in the Outpost area for a new country, but it's hard to know what is backstage there that new construction might interfere with, but that'd be my choice for location. I'd love to see another dark/boat ride.

Switzerland! The land of peacefull chocolate and secret bank accounts! i would remove the model train station between Germany and Italy making the entrance to the pavillion there.(it would of course have to be placed back in a ways as to accomodate for room or lack there of between the two existing pavillions) there would be a sense of moving upward into the grand mountains of Switzerland being surrounded by the mountains the pavillion would have a small village nestled, perhaps bring a copy of the Matterhorn from Disneyland as the focal for this pavillion. the strategic location between Germany and Italy make it geographically correct as well to give the trip through the showcases more ambiance.

Yeah I would say India or even Thailand. Spain would be cool too. All those could probably fit in around that outpost area if there is enough space. As for architecture and attractions I'm not sure quite yet. I just suggested Thailand because I love Thai food. :mickey:

Just don't say Ireland, I don't think I could handle that in a Disney Park. I have to deal with that enough with my drunk boss and half drunk co-worker. Why is it that folks that are a 1/4 Irish are "more Irish than the Irish????????

1) Australia... the only continent not represented in WS (just as long as Nemo stays out completely)

2) Egypt... Africa is not represented very well compared to all of North America, signature countries from Europe, and the two Asian pavilions. Plus this country has so much ride potential, (I'm thinking Spiderman-technology inside a mummy's tomb as I write this but even a boat ride or an omnimover would do) I don't know anything about the food though, anyone ever had Egyptian food? :?

Egypt:- think Morroco and then East a bit. Very similar foodstuffs, similar country!
Replace Morroco with Egypt and you may be onto a winner. :)

Auz. Hmmm this one has potential. Combine it with New Zealand (like Norway,Sweden etc) indigenous people great scenery could be on a winner.
Food, widgety grubs and BBQ. A possible sticking point.
:?

Hey Cheshire "Australia... the only continent not represented in WS" How about Antarctica and S.America? (OK Antarctica a little short on people, foodstuffs and great architecture).

Hey, in the middle of the summer when it's a million degrees in Florida an Antartican continent would be appreciated. Of course they'd have to build it all inside. They wouldn't have to get the temperatures down a lot. 50 degrees or so should feel artic when you're coming in from out of the summer sun.

Wow... completely forgot about S. America. :? I think it's because i don't know anything about it, so it just slips my mind. Hmmm... Anyone ever been to a S. American country that they think should be added?

And no offense to Morocco, but I think they could do a lot more if they changed it to Egypt. Too bad the Moroccan government sponsors it... :(

Actually, they should probably give all the current countries a makeover and some more attractions before they add any new ones. The World Showcase pavilions haven't changed since 1989. Since 1989 all the Future World pavilions have changed numerous times  .

I think any new country would have to be outside of Europe, which is already well represented.

I'd go with India, although Australia and Brazil are also appealing. India has so much potential, in terms of interesting architechture, food, music, natural environment.... There's a lot to draw from.

Russia would be a tough sell at even the best of times to the Disney Co, I fear. One reason they didn;t build it when the park first opened is due to the Cold War. And seeing recent comments from Russian President Putin about Americans, looks almost like we're heading to a second cold war...

though, it would be interesting.

I like India, lot of potential. Good ride posibilities [a omnimover/boat ride would be nice, something soothing yet neat for all ages], plus a chance for a new type of cuisine not well represented at the parks.

Oz would be interesting - very much like the US and Canada but different enough that they too could pull off a ride/360 thing. Food might be a bit harder to get something totally different but you never know.

South America would be a change, something like an Argentina or Chile or Brazil maybe? Or Peru, tour the famed ruins... With no representation they could certainly use some. Again, interesting food potential down that way.

How about other choices in Africa? Ideas?

As for location - dump that mega tent by the UK for the Mill. Celebration and build there. Or by the Outpost. If you look at the aerial images on Google or Live.com they have room if they are willing to be creative.

South Africa? :) Zulus have lots of colour history and traditions.
Ethiopia :? Rift valley, start of the Nile, Axumite Empire, and the city of Harar....famous for famines so.....food?.. :?
Other architecture in the sub Sahara region is a little thin on the ground or is a European import (Please correct me if I'm wrong). :?
Foods (from my experience) would also be a little ....well basic to the developed worlds pallett.
