What?! And I was so hoping they would surprise us with a big 25th celebration for Epcot. Sigh...well, maybe there will still be a few surprises in store.

That is lame.. especially since the celebration has not been a smash hit... well at least it feels that way. Just seems like the current promotion is alittle flat. I know the parks did a double digit profits. And how can they not have an Epcot celebration????
25 years is a big milestone....... :sigh:

So does that mean another million dreams or are they not giving them out fast enough? I think the WDW Radio podcast said the other day that they've given out over 600K so it would seem they're maybe slightly behind track? But I was listening to a couple of weeks old show and it might be few weeks old info so maybe they're on track.
Anyone know if they're going to add on a few more of the big prizes? I saw that some other lucky dude got my DVC membership.

I suspect they are right on track. They use a computer system so my guess is it gives away 1/365 of the prizes every day.
There are 3 DVC memberships on the line, so there are still 2 out there if they gave one away.

1/365 isn't exactly right because the original celebration was actually going on for more than a year. Aside from that, they'll have to add something because adding an entire new year to the celebration either means they'll not be giving anything away next year, or they'll severely slow down the rate at which they currently give away prizes.
Both would be horrible, so I would imagine there will be a new package of prizes to win next year.

You're right it started last September or October. At any rate 600k prizes sounds about right anyway. My point was I'm pretty sure the software makes sure it gives away the right number of prizes every day.
Plus some of the prizes are per day, like the stay at Cindy's house or in the Penthouse. They only give away one of those per day, but they give away one almost everyday, I say ALMOST because sometimes they give them away differently, like in July (I think) one day it was given away by DVD to a DVC member, there was separate contest for that. They can't average 1 a day.
The article in the mickey monitor says they are adding more prizes to the prize-pool. In fact from reading the rules I don't think they have any other option. It sounds like they are committed to giving away all million prizes by the end of the year.
I wonder what they are going to do with the mail-in contest that I do every day. Because the current rules say all the cards that are received between Dec 31, 2007 and Jan 14, 2008 will be deemed received on Dec 31, 2007 and be in the Jan 20, 2008 drawing.
I assume they are going to keep the No-Purchase Necessary contest going. As a guess they will change the PO Box at some point. So they know which ones are coming to the 2006-7 1e6 Dreams and which is the 2008 contest.
So far the cards have gotten me 1 set of Dream Ears, and 2 Pin sets.

I've been a total of 18 days during the Year Of A Million Dreams and haven't received anything.

My wife has gone even more, 28 days I think, and nothing...
As for the new prizes, I have a GREAT idea! I said this a LONG time ago and I think they should do it now. Just as they now have Cinderella's Castle suite, they should build a suite in the Tower of Terror!! How cool would it be to actually stay in a room at the infamous hotel??

Well it was simpler to do at Cindy's House, because the space they used was going to be Walt's private apartment. But it was never finished because he died before Disney World open or was even started.
At one point that space was used as a switchboard office, and a dressing room. (So the lore has it.)
I don't think ToT has such a space in it. Now they could do it with matterhorn since it's suppost to have a basketball court in it

I think the lack of celebration for Epcot comes from the lack of excitement at Epcot. They need to add about 4 more Pixar movie attractions then they will open up with the Celebration: Epcot! Experimental Pixar Community Of Tomorrow! so sit back relax...watch Test Track become Cars.

Speaking of Epcot I'm hoping they will do something during Food and Wine. The Pres/VP of Epcot said they would be working the celebration into the existing events.

dear lord, I never even made the connection of Pixar to Prototype in the acronym version of Epcot. That is scary, as that's what it's becoming...
