I haven't been to Animal Kingdom yet, but I will be going soon. I just saw a little clip of Expedition Everest ride on the Disney website, I was intrigued. Here's the deal. I hate roller coasters, but love Thunder Mountain and will attempt Space Mountain soon. I thought Everest would be a little like those coasters, but everyone who's been on it says that there are up-side down loops on it, in the dark. I would love to go on it but dislike loops. So please tell me the truth, are there loops on Everest,would I like it like Thunder Mountain? Thanks!!!!

No loops on Everest. You're thinking of the Rock'N Roller Coaster

No upside down loops, but there is a long section backwards in the dark where you go up a steep curve. If you're prone to getting sick on coasters, this is a tough one (at least it was for me). On the other hand, getting to see the Yeti and all the theming made it worthwhile - at least once!

Everest is the best coaster ride in WDW...i'd recommend it for fun over RR and Space Mountain. Space Mountain gets a bit jerky..

By far Everest is an outstanding coaster. The best on Disney Property. That yetti is amazing!!! I heard it takes an engine the size of a Jet engine to run it. dont know if thats true

EE may be the smoothest coaster I've ever been on. I'm not much of a thrill seeker, but as a father of a 13 year old boy, I find myself in the position of being his "roller coaster partner." We've hit a few of the older, big wooden coasters this summer, and it has taken it's toll on this 41 year old!

Again, I'm not a thrill seeker, so I'm not too keen on roller coasters. I really did enjoy RnRoller, but did not like Space Mountain. Big Thunder is OK, but I really, REALLY enjoyed Everest. The "going backward" part wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, and the rest of the ride is just plain AWESOME.

So, give it a try. It may look a little intimidating, but it really is a tame ride as far as roller coasters go.

By coaster standards, EE is relatively tame. The backwards portion is one of the more thrilling moments along with the visible drop outside of the mountain. It's great fun and my favorite coaster as a huge thrill ride seeker. Great for the whole family in my opinion - quite a bit more intense than BTMRR, but not so much that you wouldn't enjoy it.

I agree with all who say that this is the best coaster on property. The theming and story are great...the ride is extremely smooth, and the yeti is awesome. I can see how people might wonder if they are going upside-down...you go backwards in the dark up a long steep hill. Here's hoping you try it!

******SOME SPOILERS*******

EE has no loops, there are many people who swear it has them, but it doesn't.

It does go backwards, it does go dark (except for the Exit sign in the middle of the mountain)

Everest is black dark. Some of it might be you are outside in full day night, and then you are plunged into darkness, backwards. But Space Mountain is dark, but "lit" on the inside, stars, track, the sides, of the cars.

Im off to WDW in 2 days and am realling looking forward to my first time on this ride. Especially for my wife who hates loops!!

EE is a great coaster, for ALL of the above mentioned elements.....Ride it at night....VERY COOL!

I just returned from WDW yesterday. I went with two newbies (ages 16 and 40) and my two daughters (ages 8 and 11). The newbies backed out when they saw EE. I ended up riding it twice in 10 minutes (Thank-you, Fast Pass!!), once with each of my daughters, since I was the only adult willing to ride it. I love EE, but I became a bit quesy while riding backwards in the dark. On the other hand, even though its more intense than the Mountain coasters, its much smoother.

lemme give it to you this way.

i HATE roller coasters. But absolutely love the Disney one. Expedition Everest is awesome. Rock N Roller Coaster is in at a close 2nd.

I'm not a big fan of roller coaster, but do love Big Thunder. EE can be intimidating from the outside. I think of it as Big Thunder on steroids.
