That not a lot of time so I would not expect a major refurb.

I wonder what scenes they will add to the film at the end. So much more has happened in this great country. I love The American Adventure!!

I've been wondering when they would add the events of 9-11 to the end film. I think that should be included for sure. It's been almost 6 years, after all. I thought they would add it after 2 or so. Hopefully that's what they are doing.

I hope they don't change the song at the end. I love that song. Makes me tear up every time.

^ That's an interesting thought, you're right. It would make sense to add that as far as an event that brought about dramatic changes to our lives and how we think. Hmmm.

You have to be careful though. The film celebrates the great people and the things we've done. 9/11 was not something to celebrate or be proud of. HOWEVER, the effect after the attack was something to be proud of. How America came together and waved their flags proudly shows how great America is.

I agree. Just like struggles we've faced in the past, it is important to celebrate the triumph over difficult times.

However, I would imagine Disney would be a bit too cautious to touch this one. Six years isn't a long time when you consider that the other events in the film are hundreds of years old.

UPDATE:

Mouseplanet.com has released the changes to the American Adventure film.
mouseplanet.com wrote:New additions to "Golden Dream"

The film shown during the "Golden Dream" segment of The American Adventure got an upgrade a couple of weeks ago as the 45 seconds of additional footage that we reported on back in January were added to the film. New footage includes Tiger Woods, Michelle Kwan and the image of the firefighters raising the American flag at ground zero following the September 11, 2001 attacks in New York City.

In order to add the 25 new images to the existing 85 while still fitting the time of the song, the images were time-compressed, a process that keeps all existing images, but cuts their duration by speeding up the film speed.

Well that's cool. I hope it you can't tell that it is sped up too much.

I bet it something like what I do when I make a picture slideshow - change the duration from something like 5 seconds to like 3.5 seconds. that 1.5 second difference seems like alot, however, when viewed, it really doesn't LOOK like alot...

Yeah I'm sure it will seem very fine. I'm sure Disney wouldn't screw it up

I was just about to go vote for my favorite extinct attraction when I go sidetracked into this thread. American Adventure is one of my favorites and, like Walt, I have a red, white, and blue stripe down my back. It's a great job the imagineers have done to tell such a great story in a short timeframe! What to include? What's most important? It's a great attraction. I get all choked up every time I see it.

I hope that people will understand that something changed and will go to see if if they usually bypass. I get so chokled up everytime I see it and I think everyone should see it when they visit. Should be like a pre-requesite to visit EPCOT.

Actually it should be a pre-requesite for anyone who claims to be an American. What a way to celebrate our heritage with pride and emotion!

This is a really nice thing for them to do to this attraction. It's small and almost nobody will notice it except for people "like us", but it really shows that Disney is still patriotic. My family only stumbled onto this ride a few years ago (it's not advertised very well, we thought it was a live stage show that was changed every few years), we were really stunned after seeing it, it's one of the best attractions in the park. An instant classic like CoP or GMR.
