Likely, not much has been done in the last 25 years. This seems very similart to mall contracts. You get a 10 year lease, then when it comes time to renew the mall ownership wants significant money put into Refurb/Rehab of your location. I worked at a pizza place (sit down, not a Sbarro type) and we closed for that reason when the lease was up as did many other shops around us.
It will be interesting to see the outcome in the end. If more of the restaurants will change hands like Alberto's is or if the current ownership will make the investments.

That was an interesting article. And although I may not eat at all the updated resturants, I have to admit they sound intriguing.
Does this mean it's going to have quite the view? "As yet unnamed, the redesign will take advantage of the views of the World Showcase area of Epcot from the second floor seating area when it reopens, currently slated for Aug. 25. "
And sweet: "During a makeover of the ride in Epcot's Mexico pavilion, Disney also added 25 more seats to the San Angel Inn restaurant.
At the end of this summer, Debler will open a 50- to 60-seat tequila bar in a former retail shop, emphasizing the historical and cultural aspects of the classic Mexican beverage."

Drinking around the world? Don't you mean "stumbling, slurring and crawling around the world"? Hehehe

Well... I get to and never out of Germany. That helps with the sumbling/crawling portion of the situation. And if I go the right way, I'll never make it to Mexico. If I go the wrong way, I'll likely never make it OUT of Mexico. Good thing we stay at the Boardwalk and its not too far back to the hotel.

They already exist, the "drink around the world" concept has been around for a long time. Adding a tequila bar only makes it a bigger challenge, sort of a gaunlet thrown down by Disney
I've challenged by dad to the task this July - hot, muggy, easy to get dehydrated, should be fun. He's game so we'll see what happens.

Can we make liquors around the lake a multiple day game now??? With this new addition and a one day try, it's gonna be COMA around the lake. Would a wheel chair be cheating?

Sounds like some fun interesting changes. Nice to see they are mixing things up. WDW has been stale for too long.
A 50- to 60-seat tequila bar is an interesting concept..... wheeee

Most interesting, I don't do the sit-down eating thing but I'm glad there are no major changes to Mexico's theming both inside and at the Cantina, that one seems to have the most influence on the entire pavilion. The rest sound like menu/operator/seating/etc. changes. Hopefully they will all work out well and keep people coming to the World Showcase. Now about those Beaver Tails....
