I've never stayed at the French Quarter, but love their food court and the atmosphere. At the food court you can get beignets and muffalettas. Not as good as in New Orleans, but still excellent, especially with the Mardi Gras atmosphere (large decorations hanging from the ceiling!).
Looks like you'll be there for the Epcot flower show. How exciting!

Not sure how recently you're looking, but my fiancee and I stayed at POFQ in December 2005 (so, 15 months ago)... we loved it! It was relatively quiet, and is small, making it easy to get from your room to the bus stop, pool, lobby, food, etc... The pool is really quite neat and kids seem to love the big sea serpent slide. We also found the boat trip to Downtown Disney to be pleasant and convenient (and a nice break from buses!)
Oh yeah... and there are bunnies. Lots and lots of them. You just have to keep your eyes open on the grass/bush areas after dark.
Adorable.

I stayed there in August, and have stayed there before. It is such a wonderful hotel, and my pick as the best of the moderate resorts. It's such a wonderful atmosphere, but not so big that it takes forever to get from your room to the main area, like the other moderates. It's also quite romantic, and the boat to Downtown Disney is wonderful! If you get bored with it, you can always walk to Port Orleans Riverside (it will always be Dixie Landings to me) and soak up some different atomsphere too.
The only negative thing I can think of is that the hot tub is a little too far away from the pool, so it's a little walk back and forth between the two.
But overall, one of my favorite resorts on property!

Port Orleans French Quarter is my favorite moderately priced resort. It's smaller size, more intimate setting, intricately detailed architecture, and wonderful atmospheric music put it worlds apart from hubbubs of noise and activity like Caribbean Beach and Coronado Springs. As Esmeralda said, definitely try the beignets and a piping hot cup of cafe au lait.

We like PO Riverside better than FQ. But we like both of them. And when we aren't using DVC points that is where we tend to stay.

This is great info, as my wife and I will be going down, in a few weeks, for a quick 3 days, and she wants to stay at POFQ.....Thanks

This January we stayed at the French Quarter after several recommendations. I really enjoyed it. It seemed much smaller and quieter than the other resorts. Another wonderful perk is the bus stop is the first to be picked up on that route. Several times during our stay, when the bus was full, it would have to skip the rest of the stops at Riverside.

The French Quarter is my hands-down favorite resort, and only because I think the sea serpent pool with the alligators is the best thing ever. (I named them all but now I forget what I called them. I think one was Trixie...)
Okay, seriously now... it's quaint and quiet, much smaller than Riverside, and has just a very nice feel. When I stay at the value resorts or one time Coronado Springs, I felt like I was in at a resort. At the French Quarter, it felt much more authentic, much more like a little place in New Orleans. I don't know, it's just... cozy.
And, of course, the service there is up to Disney standards and the food is... also up to Disney standards, but their standards of fast food. Which we all know is... yeah.
Any bad feedback I have is the kind you could encounter anywhere

We always stay at the sister resort, Riverside, and we love it. Since FQ is close by, we spend time there, and it's very nice as well. Like someone else said, the boat ride to DD is wonderful. The setting and landscaping at both resorts is lovely; lots of ducks, bunnies, birds, etc. The walk between the two resorts is really nice if you just want to take a quiet stroll.

Now this is a great reason to stay at this resort! That's recommendation enough for me!

It's definitely one of the better Moderate resorts to stay at! I'd recommend it!

We've stayed at this resort more than any other on property. It is a beautiful, quaint resort. I especially love the music (and hope to find some of it here). The boat ride from the resort to Downtown Disney is an absolute must!
With that said, we stayed at POR two trips ago and I think I like that one a tad more.

I am a native of New Orleans. We lived a block away from the French Market. A friend was staying at Port Orleans, so we took a stroll to see just how much they had captured the ambiance . I was very impressed. The architecture and the food are good too. They were lacking in just a couple of key points. For one, you don't have to keep looking over your shoulder, (there is no crime.) And the streets are clean, no obnoxious odors left by drunks.

My wife and I have never stayed there, but we spent one day just touring the hotels. And I was amazed at Port Orleans French Quarter. It was a beautiful and romantic place to walk through and sit and relax. I hope one day to stay there. I took so many pictures just because the place was so beautiful.

My mum and I adore POFQ. We loved the boat to DTD and the bus stops (first to board and first to be dropped off). The size was super convenient too!
