Tomorrowland Phone

Post by thecleverarachnid » Jan Wed 31, 2007 9:23 pm

Does everybody know the play phone in Tomorrowland, the one beside the entrance to the Tomorrowland Transit Authority? Where you go up and hit buttons and they play funny space messages?

Weell... I used my recording phone to get recordings of them, and I did, hurray! But now I accidently got them all scrambled up, because another family asked me what I was doing so I let them play with it, and now the recordings are out of order. (That's an encounter I'll never forget...)

If anybody knows offhand, or is planning a pilgramage to the World, can you do me a favor and play with the phone, and just jot down what order they're in?

I wondered about that phone (I was waiting in the queue to talk to a friend who was working on the Lunching Pad on the opposite side to the TTA entrance) when I saw a Cast Member take a family to it and press something on it, letting the child with the family listen to it.. I never got round to working out what it is/does :)

I always mean to go over to that phone and forget every trip.

I will have to add it to my list for my March trip.

I've heard of it, but never experienced it myself. I actually didn;t even know where it was. Now I know, and will be prepared in December to try it out. And, if no one can find/get the audio, I'll get it when I go down again...

I always wondered what that phone was for! Silly me, I should have just picked it up. I'll have to check it out next time. Unless someone wants to upload it here. Hint hint...

The one I remember seeing is on the opposite side of the Lunching Pad to the TTA entrance, and is pretty much where you queue for the window of the Lunching Pad closest to the Astro Orbiter queue. If you see where I mean.

OK unfortunately my brother never recorded it but we will next time. I could have sworn he did.

acp wrote:What does it say?

It has people on the "other line" that say different things like:

"Cosmic Ray's Pizza Palace garanteed delivery in one lightyear or your money back"

"did you remember to pick up the children from the Milky Way Day Care" or something along that line.

Just a lot of little jokes, I believe there are 9 of them in all.

Lol.. Disney has the same problem as Lucas did in star wars.. Lightyear is a distance measurement not a measurement of time..

My sound files are in .amr format, so unless anybody knows anything about them they're stuck how they are. I think this is all of them, since I went there every single time I was in Tomorrowland for about, say, three or four months, pushing buttons, and they seem to be in a fixed loop... if I miss any, by the way, feel free to let me know... I've been known to do that.

If anybody wants to see the lines I have, I transcribed them. You know, if you're really curious but aren't going anytime soon. Also, there's one with robots that I didn't transcribe because I can't understand it... anyway, enjoy.

"You have reached the Psychic Robots Network. We knew you'd be calling. Please deposit 25 [qwartz] for the first minute, and 15 fior each additional minute. They're in your left pocket. Thank you."

"Hello, and thank you for calling the Intergalactic Movieline, Tomorrowland's direct link to worlds of entertainment. Now playing at the Solar System Cinaplex, 'Attack of the 50 Foot Earthling,' presented in Cosmoscocpe (scope, scope, scope...)"

"Hi! This is Colena Lunar, your friendly Rocket Realty representative. If you want space, Rocket Realty's the place, and do I have the space for you! It's a lovely, 2-bedroom skyriser in the Hoverburbs. A short commute from downtown Tomorrowland. Remember, in the Hoverburbs, real estate is always looking up!"

"Earth's Crust Pizza! We deliver anywhere in the solar system in less than two lightyears or your order is free. Can you hold please? (Hold music- "Now is the Time") Thanks for holding. I had to take that incoming call from Saturn, because they hardly ever give us a ring!" Booo! :D :D

"Hello, you'v reached Omego, 5277. I'm either not home or I'm just screening my calls... and if this is that spacey creep Zygork, stop calling me! I told you, I don't date Martians who are 300 years older than me, at least not slimy ones like you! ... Anyone else, leave me a message and I'll call you right back. Love you. Bye."

"Hello, dear, thanks for calling-- Hailey Comet, be quiet! Can't you see I'm on the phone! Kids these days, they think the worlds revolve around them... you were saying?

My second favorite:
"Hiya, babe, it's your agent, Johnny Jupitor. You called? Anyway, I gotta call you right back. I'm in a meeting with my number one client- er, I mean, my number TWO client, Sonny Eclipse. You're always number one in my book, baby. You know that. Let's do lunch! Oooh, look at the time! Gotta fly!"

And my absolute favorite:
"This is Tomorrowland News Networks Corona Borealis with your local time and weather. As always, it's going to be a great, big, beautiful tomorrow, and at the tone, the time will be now."

This program isn't letting me open any of them, so I'm knee-deep in trouble-shooting and googling for a better one (no luck yet)

What do you mean, you'd like to get them from me?
