We were in Disney world for halloween, and my brother got married at the wedding pavilion on halloween, if anyone has been inside, you have a nice clear view of the castle, well it just so happens that they were working on the castle that day, and had a very large crane right in front of the view, I asked the photographer if there was a way to erase the crane the pictures, he said not a problem, but while I was talking to him someone must have heard us an radioed up to the crane operator, they took the crane down for the entire ceremony and as soon as the pictures were done being taken the crane was right back up, It was very nice of Disney to do that for us.... thanks

Aww, that's so sweet
The crane was there all through the 2 months I was over there, and it did confuse me why they'd always have it there and up in the mornings when the park opens.. Hardly the most magical first view of the Magic Kingdom... It did, however, always seem to disapear around lunchtime (well.. disapear to the point that you couldn't see it from the front of the park, but could if you were standing in Fantasyland

.. It wasn't a very hidden crane..)

we saw it earlier this month while knedeau, Dr Ravenscroft, and I were there. in fact, you can see it in one of the photopass pictures we had taken.

The people in the crane are the Painting crew... Adding a fresh coat to the castle (covering up any damage probably done with the removal of all the horrible cinderellabration "extras").... and leering at women wearing tank tops.....
It's cool that they took it down though.

Yeah, that's what I figured they were doing up there. I also noted that the castle changed colour slightly when they painted it.. it went from white to a very very light pinkish colour...
As for the Happiest Celebration stuff, you could see two (rather large) squares that they'd filled in at the front of the castle for a few days (until they painted over them) where the "magic mirror" was attached to the castle.. Kind of sad that they had to make such big holes in the castle to hold up something that looked rather out of place (IMHO)

Wow that rocks!
Glad to see that Disney still cares about the little details that make it soooo special.

I noticed the crane when we were there in early November. You could definitely tell they were painting the castle. I must say, that I would of have been very disappointed if that was my first trip and I had never seen the castle. My brother wanted to ask the crane operator if he was an operating engineer and if he had a license.

Thanks for sharing that story.

It's very nice to see Disney cares which is why it's THE only place to go.

Thats great, I mean I can only imagine how much that wedding cost and you really want a good picture, I work at a hotel part-time and get to see how much they charge people.

That was a great story. Thanks for sharing. I always believe it's the little things that really make the difference. Of course, I'm not saying this was a little thing. That crane was huge!
