Disney's biggest blunder?

What would you say is Disney's biggest blunder in the WDW theme parks?

The Stitch overlay of Alien Encounter comes to mind first for me (as indicated in the current thread), but the removal of Horizons still is sad to me to this day (even though I really really dig Mission: Space).

Yeah........ I think Stitch totally takes the cake in that one. It was a HUGE mistake. Not all the rides SHOULD have movies associated with them.. I mean It's not like Disney is Universal............Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Hmm. For me, it would be the joint restrooms for Sci-fi and ABC Commissary. It always smells bad, always a line, handicapped stall was always plugged, and it was always a pain to clean.

Stitch and JII are the biggest problems I can see. In both instances something awesome was replaced by something that just sucks.

I'd say Stich and the new Journy into Imagination with Figment are the truly lame rides at the parks. They took away good quality rides and replaced them with flops! :?

Imagination for me. I always loved that ride and could never understand why they wanted to remove Figment and Dreamfinder. The new ride just isn't the same.

I agree with those 2 rides. The jury is still out on Nemo.

Journey into Imagination is more annoying than a bad ride. It's nice for the kids, but once you've been on it you never want to see it again (and yes, I've been *dragged* onto it multiple times now :P)

I think the worst ride here is Stitch, to be honest. It's just completely wrong. The "harnesses" that come down and attempt to dislocate your shoulders are annoying, as is the entire ride, really.

Andy.

I really see no reason why people would want to suffer through Imagination more than once. What were the Imagineers thinking?

Stitch I really don't mind. But I haven't experienced the previous attraction, so I can't say much about that.

Imagination is not a bad ride, its just no figment.

Figment's on the ride, its just that the ride has no real story.

Getting rid of Imagination, Horizons, and WoM - I would love to see whoever made those decisions trapped on Mission:Space for a long, long time.

Hmm...

I think this has to be split into two: what's missing and what's here. And I have to agree with most of the board. Even now, part of me looks forward to going on Horizons when I go to EPCOT. And even though I like Mission: Space quite a bit, it feels like a Magic Kingdom ride that got misplaced by a few miles. Same way I felt about Test Track, now that I think about it. Both of them, from a technical standpoint, are terrific rides. Both neither truly tie into the EPCOT theme of how the future would look, what problems we may run into, and what ideas are on the tables to improve our everyday life. An argument could be made for Mission: Space, but it feels more like science fiction, and misses the educational, functional purpose of the park.

I may miss Horizons, but I do find Mission: Space entertaining. On the other hand, Journey Into Imagination, perhaps the most kid-friendly ride in the original park...

I don't know. While the current incarnation beats Journey Into Your Imagination, the repetition of the ride torpedoes any positive effect. Been a while since I was last on, but my memories of it are as such:

A particular sense is introduced.

Eric Idle: "Well, at least we won't have to worry about Figment here."

Figment: "Ta-da!"

Eric Idle: "Dagnubbit, Figment! Get your pastel keister out of our imagination!"

Repeat a half-dozen times.

Unload patrons.

Excellent summary. There was no story to the ride at all. My kids unintentionally fell asleep on the ride. We got off asking what was the point of that?!?

Although someone said World Showcase was being cut back, which I find alarming. That would be an enormous blunder, IMO.
