we just got back from Disney Friday the front of the living seas is great! the seagulls randomly squawking "Mine, mine, mine!"

p.s. Turtle Talk with Crush...if you have kids...dress them in bright colored shirts! my daughter was picked first to talk to crush! she sat on the front end of the floor wearing a bright turquiose blue shirt.....he asked her name and where she was from...she said "Casper Wyoming" he replied"Dude.....Never heard of it" it was a great show.

Turtle Talk is a lot of fun - they could really use two theatres to handle the crowds.

I really REALLY wish I was there now.

The clam-mobiles remind me of Horizons the way they move sideways and have a door in the front middle :D

Hey Disney fans!

I just came back from a weekend at Walt Disney world and a passholder preview of the redone Living Seas ride! I'll try not to spill the beans about the ride too much but I will say I didn't like Finding Nemo but thought this new ride was a lot of fun. They did a really good job by making you feel like you are under the sea with all the characters from the movie.

The best of today's technology has been used to make this ride a must do when it is open to the public.

I just got back from Epcot. Nemo was open to anyone and everyone today, and had no wait, so I hopped on and had a ride :)

It's a very fun little ride :)

Andy.

rdeacon stopped by the chat yesterday (as all of you should ALWAYS be in there) and lead a little Q&A session about his experience on the Nemo ride. It really sounds like Disney did a good job. I'm excited to go on it.

Ok, I also got a chance to ride it yesterday. Here is a former Living Seas cast member's view on the changes.

Note: this is more of a technical view of the changes and should not be a spoiler of the ride contents itself. If you wish to remain surprised, please do not continue reading.

Changes:
1) The former pre-show theater, show theater ("It rained and rained and rained...), and hydrolators are now part of interior ride queues. Disney appears to be expecting quite a lot of people wanting to do the ride.
2) The queue is done up so that you get the feeling of going progressively deeper, starting on the beach, heading under a pier, and under the water.
3) Standing in the second floor of the ITM (In Tank Module) looking into the aquarium, shows some gratings and new support structures extending out from the ITM which I presume are part of the projection system technology.
4) The ride unload is in the same place as it previously was, but ride load is now where the gift shop used to be. This allows for a slightly longer ride as the time was previously dead (unused) time for the seacabs as they moved from unload to load. I suspect that they may have also lengthed the track by using part of one of the theaters that did not become queue. Without access to drawings or a knowledgeable source, I can not confirm this, but the length of the ride seemed sufficiently longer that I think the track was lengthened.
5) The projection technology and overall feel of the ride is great. I was very impressed by it. The overlaying of Nemo characters on the actual fish in the aquarium is pretty cool.
6) The ride tunnel no longer has visible windows allowing users to look into the aquarium (either from the sides or up). Visibility of the aquarium starts once the Clammobile gets into the ITM. This decreases total aquarium visibility time from the ride. There are other effects going on in the ride tunnel, so you do not necessarily realize the lack of aquarium viewing.
7) As compared to the seacabs, the clammobiles are rotated at a 90 degree angle, so you are always moving sideways. This would have limited half of the visibility for the ride tunnel which may be a factor in why they closed all of the windows.
8) Most of the signage refers to the attraction as "The Seas with Nemo & Friends" or as "The Seas" indicating a name change from "The Living Seas".

Overall, a very nice ride and a much better upgrade than some other recent ones.
Regards,
Aaron

That's great to hear SeasDiver! I thought perhaps an expert such as yourself might not approve of the new upgrade (not having seen it myself), but now that I've heard everyone is enjoying it I'm set to go. Wish I didn't have to wait till January though!
Drop another coin in slot and I will tell you more.
