I love DisneyQuest!!! Our family has now made a tradition to stop there every trip. From the moment your in the elevator you're in a complete mind-blowing world. I love it there! My favorite part in the Pirates of the Caribbean 3D ride!!!

Aren't they planning on closing it? Maybe it's just a rumor

I have heard the same rumor that Disney Quest is closing.

I've also heard this rumor - we've never been, doesn't really have a strong appeal with us, though.

Now I played arcade games when I was a child. And I have to be honest I can't remember the last time I actually played a video game, be it at an arcade or at someone's house. But Disney Quest always intriqued me. So for someone like me who isn't a big gammer, would Disney Quest be entertaining for me or would it bore me after about an hour?

DisneyQuest had some cool stuff in there. I really enjoyed it. I'm sad to hear it's closing, but I understand why. Regardless, I love ESPNZone, so WOOHOO! 8)

Turning it into an ESPNZone would be pretty cool. The place would be huge, no telling what all they would have in it.

The DisneyQuest closure rumor is still just a rumor I believe. The CMs had heard nothing (but thats not saying much) about DQ closing, and in fact MK Cms etc. could now transfer to DQ which was new. Some of the CMs I spoke with speculated it was because DQ is now operated by Disney instead of a 3rd party group.
DQ is great fun, but they keep raising the price and doing zero for upkeep/updates. When I was first there years ago I remember they had the NEWEST games available and if a game brokedown they had it fixed within a few hours tops. I was there in July and they had numerous broken games, and many of their games were outdated. The Alien Encounter: Invasion! 360ยบ game was busted, well at least my friend's turret was. That was very disappointing. They've had the Inca Ruins RC-jeep maze thing closed for a couple of years. The Jungle Cruise rapids doesn't spray anymore. It's just sad now.
I think a lot of the problem is lack of promotion. The first time I found DQ was by accident when we were going to eat at Bongos. Even in the "Magic Your Way" ticket it's under the "Water Parks and fun!" section and only sometimes is it even mentioned. It's usually "It's good for the water parks and Pleasure Island etc." I don't think I've ever seen a sign for it and the only place they have maps for it is at DQ, I don't recall ever seeing it in any of those little brochure holders they have at resorts/off property. It was a really really fun place, even if you aren't into standard arcade games things like the Create Zone, where you can make your own rollercoaster and ride it, loops and all (I think our last coaster had like 18 inversions

) or the pirates 3d cannon game, or the bumper cars/dodge ball are all awesome fun. But now, it's still fun but you can tell it's dying for not only public attention but serious Disney attention too. I'd hate to see it turn into another "trendy" eatery, and I use the term loosely for ESPNZone, which I think is awful - and I love sports.

In your opinion, would DQ appeal to the under 10 set? My husband really wants to take our 7 year old, but I'm not sure it's worth the trip/money. Also, is this a full day attraction? This will be a big factor, too. Can't imagine giving up a park day for DQ!!

from what I've heard about alot of the attractions there being closed down, I'm not sure that a 7 year old would enjoy it alot. last time I was there was 2001, so I'm not sure what's still there and what's still running. but if she's really into video games, she might like it...
as far as timeframes, DQ is at most (at least last time I was there), at MOST a half-day attraction. unless the crowds are big or there are alot of spaces down on each attraction, we were able to do everything at least once within 3 hours, maybe 4. and as far as price, I haven't been there in 5 years (as I said before), so I'm not sure what price increases there have been. I'll see if I have some kind of receipt from there that has a price, but if I remember correctly, we paid something like $25/ticket. I'll look for what I have when I get home from work...

thanks for your input! I guess I should do some more research, too. I'm kind of leaning against it right now, especially hearing about some of the games being shut down and also the prices--I'd rather spend that on dinner!!

ok, for the price, I was a little off. according to allears.net - "DisneyQuest 1 Day - including tax: $37.28 (Ages 10+); $30.89 (Ages 3-9); children under 3 are free.".
