Would you be willing to pay less for no housekeeping?

I saw this poll on another board and, frankly, I was shocked at how many people would be willing to receive a discount on their resort room and not have housekeeping.

Me? I'm on vacation so I want houeskeeping service daily and turndown service every night. We're pretty tidy people to begin with but i like beds made, fresh towels and I love coming back to a room that has been turned down in the evening.

I'm with you Steve. I like coming back to everything in place and folded and nice. Without, it'd be like living at home!

My vacations are usually short, so I wouldn't have any problem paying less for no housekeeping. I don't need new towels everyday and I can make my own bed alright. On the other hand, I do love those new shampoos and lotions that come everyday with housekeeping...

No way!!!!!! When I'm coming back to my room after an exausting day of park hopping, etc., the last thing I want to face is a messy room. I'm fine with using the same towels for a few days, but I like the bed being made and the room straightened up.

Well...... I expect that in the hotel service, especially at Disney. If it was anywhere else, I wouldn't mind (as I'd probably only be staying a night ;) ), but Disney?

It wouldn't seem the same without it!

When I'm on vacation I like not having to make a bed. :D

I normally stay at a timeshare where you don't have housekeeping anyway ad it doesn't bother me. It doesn't take much to throw your bed into a somewhat made condition, and if that's the difference between a higher price I'd do it myself. I guess it deoends on how much of a discount though.

I'm already paying less going camping at Ft. Wilderness. I highly doubt (though would like to see) housekeeping crawl into the tent and make the air mattress I'll be sleeping on. Only thing they'd be cleaning is the comfort stations, if anything

Part of being on vacation is having someone help with the tidying up, so we like having the housekeeping and think it's worth the extra cost. We try to make things as easy as possible on housekeeping, but wouldn't want to do without them! We've always found Disney housekeeping to be super, and wouldn't want them to go away!

I agree. Last time I was there (sept '05), even though there were 2 adults staying in our room, Housekeeping made little bunnies out of some washcloths and wrapped them around our bath gel travel bottles! I mean, how cool is that!?!?! To come back to your hotel room after a long day in the parks, and find a little surprise like that! THAT, my friends, is attention to detail!

The housekeeping is part of the whole experience, as Knedeau said you never know what they might do to your room the next day. It's just another thing that makes Disney stand out in their Customer Service. The extra money is worth it!!

And who wants to give up turn down service?! Coming back to a dimly lit room with the beds turned down, soft music and creative displays of animal towels or the kids' stuffed animals is always fun - and then of course there are the chocolates!

I have to agree with most of you. Coming back to the room and finding your beds made and fresh towels is part of being on vacation. It's like being pampered in an indirect kind of way.

Absolutely not, I'm on vacation and don't want to have to clean the bathroom or make my bed. That's a big part of being on vacation. I love coming back to the room each night to find what little Disney touches we will find. It's a fun way to end the day!
