Who else loves the buses at WDW?

Post by Just Believe » Aug Wed 09, 2006 6:50 pm

I have always loved the buses that take you to each park. I think its so cool because at Disneyland you can walk from place to place while WDW is SO big that you need a bus to get around. :D
Do you think have enough time to go the bathroom before the next show?

I like that you don't need to rent a car while there. How cool is that?!?!?

They are very convenient, and always a blessing from the hot hot sun. The drivers are friendly, too.

Dissenting vote here - I despise the busses. We always rent a car and use it faithfully if not using the monorail or boat system. I'm not sure how people get from resort to resort in a timely fashion, say for dining, when using the bus system.

I don't think you can resort hop easily using the busses. Otherwise, if you're just using the busses to get from park to park, it's good. Although, wait times do vary, and they do PACK in people when it's crowded...

I don;t like the busses on the sole fact that they create traffic on the roadways. and I always hate when I get stuck in a lane because there's a line of busses (only been driving down there a few times but it's happened EVERY time). Plus, I HATE the smell of diesel engines, though I have heard that they've changed to a cleaner burning engine since the last time I was down there...

I much prefer the boats/monorail.

Personally I love the idea of the bus system is just like the city system. It just makes me feel that WDW is bigger and more elaborate then it already is! :D

The buses are pretty convienient, even though I usually stand in the "stairway pit" with a stroller to make room for others who could use the seating. Sure beats paying for parking and havint to bother remembering where I parked my go-cart of a vehicle!

I think you are all missing the point here actually...

WDW transportation is actually a RIDE!

I don't know how many times I just hopped on a bus and took off for some resort ( I have been to all but about 4 of them now)

And the guys who run the small boats btween the Poly - Grand and MK always looked at me weird when I rode a complete lap and didn't get off at the MK. hahaha

Being packed in with a bunch of tired, cranky, sweaty guests at the end of the day isn't a fun ride for me.

I'll take Soarin or Expedition Everest or the Haunted Mansion, please! :D

Well......... When they complete the monorail expansion, they won't have to rely on the busses so much. I just love the fact that transportaion IS there!

I heard it on the key's to the Kingdom tour (in '04) that it's a definate. The CM said it was going to connect MGM, AK, Downtown Disney and I think the ticket and transportation center (and AKL too).

They are at full capacity for the # of busses.

but in 2 years there hasn't been a single ounce of concrete poured for it..
Don't get me wrong I think it would ROCK if they did it...
but how long does it take to plan something like that I wonder??

I think it's a rumor - the cost would be in the billions so it was scrapped. This rumor has floated around for years just like the 5th park rumor - one can hope that maybe our great grandchildren might see it come to light! :D
