Anniversay celebration

Post by Goofyisme » Jul Sat 29, 2006 6:58 pm

Hey All,

Does anyone know if the World has something special for anniversary celebrations? My wife and I honeymooned at the Caribbean Beach and will celebrate 15 years together there in August.

I plan to take her to a romantic dinner while the kids stay with the grandparents (yeah, we like the Grand Gatherings!), but is there somnething welse I can do for her?

Thanks!

I would call the Central Reservations Office down there and ask them if there's anything special they can recommend... they're always willing to help out with special occasions... my fiancee and I were there last December when I proposed to her and we both planned stuff ahead of time (it was also my birthday, so she had stuff to do for that, and I planned stuff for the engagement)

CRO is mighty helpful. (407) W-DISNEY (407-934-7639)

You can also call the resort and have special stuff in the Room waiting when you get there, balloons, flowers, etc. My parents called ahead for my honeymoon and the room was all decked out! It was no sweet! They also had a Cake sent for my Birthday (same trip)
"Hey, Look at that guy in the Goofy Mask!" "That's not a mask!" "Oh... Sorry Lady!"

First of all congrats on your upcoming anniversary from another Downriver suburbanite! 8) I live in Brownstown, MI.

My wife and I spent our honeymoon at WDW just a few days over seven years ago.

Below is a link to some romantic ideas for couples. Be sure to read through most of it. While some are aimed at newlyweds; there are a couple of neat ideas for all couples. Spa treatements, dinner on a yacht, horseback rides etc.

http://hotels.about.com/cs/disneyworld/a/wdwromance.htm

I can't say I've tried any of these, but I may in the near future.

I have also heard that it's common to receive a free room upgrade if you mention that you're there for your anniversary upon check-in.

Further, definitely plan a fine dining experience and call ahead to the actual establishment you choose (I recommend California Grill) and tell them you want something special done. We have had amazing anniversary dinners also at Le Cellier and Artist Point.

If you call 1-321-939-7100, option 1. This will put you in touch with the Fairy Tale Weddings representative. They can vow renewals, parties, and more elaborate events.

If you call 1-407-824-4477. They have a seperate department that plans special events like engagements and anniversaries.

I got engaged in MK during the fireworks on the Rose Garden terrace, 5 years ago, and did all the planning through that office. They are very good. I will let you know what options they have since I am in the middle of planning something for my 5 year anniversary :D

Congratts on your 15!!! Wow, it's humerous, my wife and I are going to be celebrating our 8 years together and I was just wondering the same thing. That's what I love about Disney fans. You just check the boards and fans are always willing to help you. Sometimes they help more than just the person asking the questions.

Congratts again and thanks everyone! I too have a lot of ideas now, thanks to all of you!

Update:

Bummer... they no longer offer the engagment packages. :(

They only place they do engagments/anniversary things is in Cinderella's Royal Table. You can use the number I posted above.....

Its a shame, our engagment was soo nice. I guess we are just one of the lucky ones that got to do it before they stopped offering that serice.

Ha! You can't stop a good thing I guess. Disney would be foolish to under-judge how much of an influence they are to SO many couples. What better place to have all of your ever-after dreams come true and continue on forever and ever?

Hey everyone, just an update. I forgot to call ahead of time for our 8 year anniversary but when I went to check in I asked if there was anything they could do in secret. Well the next day we left for a while and came back to our room and there were balloons in the room that said Happy Anniversary and they were attached to a card with a signed picture from Mickey and Minnie wishing us happy anniversary.

There was ALSO a message on our phone. When she checked the message it was from Mickey and Minnie wishing us happy anniversary and they sang a quick song. Mickey even finished the song with " ...and 'Minnie' moooore!"

Cheesy but very very cute, and worked out very nicely!
