I 've been to the MK so many times, but never taken advantage of the Extended hours. How do they work? Do you just keep going to rides and show a room key or something? I feel like such a newbie...oh, I am.

Goofyisme:

Welcome! I believe you need to show your hotel ID to obtain a bracelet that allows you to stay for the EMHs. I believe you can get the bracelet at the gate or in several predetermined locations in each park.

Great! Thanks!

...do you know if we request it when the park closes or when we arrive...or maybe at the resort before we leave in the morning?

As far as I know, you get them at the park in the evening. Not sure how it works in the morning. There are Extra Magic Hour guides that you can get in the park. The guide tells you which attractions are open, which restaurants are open, and of course where you can obtain a bracelet.

And yeah, just show your resort ID to a CM with a little machine that scans the info. Then you get your little wristband.

Or just ask a CM.

I just went in June. This is what the brochure says about Extra Magic Hours.

If you do not have the Park Hopper Option for your ticket and would like to take advantage of the Extra Magic hour Benefit, your Theme Park selectin must be the park offering the Extra Magic Hours Benefit that day. Remember, without the Park Hopper Option, you can only visit one Theme park per day.

For Water park Extra Magic Hours, add the Water Park & More Option, or a valid one-day Water park ticket is required. The Park Hopper Option does not apply to Water parks. Each visit to a Water Park requires admission.

For the evening Extra Magic Hours Benefit, just use your Resort I.D. to pick up a wristband. (Resort I.D.s required for each member of your party) Wristbands may be picked up at selected locations in the Theme Park that is open for Extra Magic Hours no sooner than two hours before regular park closing. Wistbands are not needed for the morning Extra Magic Hours Benefit.

When we went we got our tickets at the front desk of the hotelImage. I'm sure there are several different ways to get them. You can always ask when you get on property.Image

The last time I did morning hours there were just cast members standing at the entrance to the monorail at the TTC center asking for a room key. More recently I did EPCOT "after hours" and an hour or 2 before the park closedd for daily guests a couple of stations a located around the park. Get in line and shwow them your room key, you'll get a wrist braclet. A select few will remain open. I remeber Norway and I think Mexico. THERE WAS NO ONE IN LINE AT EITHER. it was like a private party. Just amke sure that you map it out so that you dont do any of these rides that remain open earlier in the day. I think there is a listing in the Epcot map about which rides stay open. You wont need the extra 3 hours. you'll be able to do what you want in like 1. Hope that helps

You don't received tickets or a bracelet for early morning entry - just show your resort ID upon entrance at the park. In the evening, as mentioned, there are several places in the park to pick up a bracelet. Everyone in your party must show their resort ID - they were being very strict on this for the past few times we've been.
