Jiko & The California Grill

Well as you all may recall I polled the group on the best place for a romantic dinner for my wife and I - we ended up choosing two places!

Jiko - wow, it was amazing. My wife had the pork tenderloin and I had the halibut - both dishes were absolutely perfect. I had aSouth African wine that our server suggested and it was excellent. We didn't get appetizers, but we did split the pistachio creme brulee which was entirely too decadent. I highly, highly recommend Jiko - it's moved straight to the top as one of my favorite places at Disney.

California Grill - Best meal experience ever for us was here - and maybe the most expensive I've ever paid for! But totally worth it, as it was just amazing.

We started with the BLT flatbread which had bacon, heirloom tomato and a lemon mayo drizzled over the lettuce. Incredible!

My wife then ordered the tortolloni they had on the menu (typically changes daily) and I ordered the fillet that has been on for quite some time. Both dishes were phenom!

And for dessert we had the Bananas and Butterscotch Buzz with enough calories that should make it illegal! It was the bomb.

We had the best server ever - I'm talking of any where I've ever eaten out. His name was Ron and he provided us with 2 hours of great service - and to make things better he was of like mind in terms of Disney, politics and religion (my favorite topics) so we had great things to chat about!

The view is amazing up there and it is really an experience you all need to have - just please put on something nice. I was really dumbfounded how sloppy many people were dressed and the blatant disregard of the dress code :x (something that really bugged Ron too).

GO TO BOTH PLACES! But be prepared to drop about $60-70 per person and more if you have wine with dinner.

Usually Disney is the only safe topic for me. No matter where I go someone seems to be spoiling for a fight.
