Original Universe of Energy
Ok, i just found a video with a ride through of the original universe of energy. I was thinking about trying to rip the sound of the whole show to create an mp3 that we could add to Subsonic. I was wondering if anyone knew how to do that or had any ideas of good software to do the job?
Please keep your arms and legs inside the vehicle until the ride comes to a full and complete stop. Thank you, and enjoy the rest of your day here at Walt Disney World.

That will be awesome if it works!! I miss the old show, especially the music (which thankfully I can hear on Subsonic quite often).jrcohen wrote:Ok, i just found a video with a ride through of the original universe of energy. I have a few programs I'm looking into, I've decided I'm going to try it as soon as I get home from work today. I'll let everyone know how it goes. If it works, I may be able to get a lot more mp3 file by taking the sound off of old home movies from disney trips in the 80s and early 90s. Wish me luck.

I have a program that works well, but you have to pay for. it's All Sound Recorder XP. all the vacation planner videos here were recorded with the program (the choppiness of some of them are just the computer I was using at the time). if the video is something online, I could record them and give them right to Sub.

As a matter of fact it was online. http://wdwmagic.com/universeofenergy.htmjs3901 wrote:I have a program that works well, but you have to pay for. it's All Sound Recorder XP. all the vacation planner videos here were recorded with the program (the choppiness of some of them are just the computer I was using at the time). if the video is something online, I could record them and give them right to Sub.
I'm gonna still try to do it also, b/c it's a skill i'd like to have but you welcome to go for it.
If it works for me I do plan to try to do it with a lot of my old home videos so I want to learn what i can. Does the program you use let you enhance the sound or just rip it?

you can enhance it. add effects, fade ins, fade outs, cut parts, etc. there's a program within All Sound Recorder which is called All Sound Editor (comes automatically) which has these features. once you have it recorded (or if you have another mp3 you'd like to use), you can open it in ASE and change it around. The one thing with this program is that it does just what the name suggests - ALL sound recorder. it will record any sounds that happen while it's in record mode. so, I HIGHLY suggest closing ALL open programs besides whatever you're recording and the recorder so as not to get any other noises in there. Also, if you prefer, the program does not just do MP3 format, but also WMA and OGG. I think there may be something else too, like WAV format, but I'll check when I get home. If you want any more info, I can send you what I find when I get home as I haven't used it since the VPVs.

You might want to look into Cool Edit Pro. It has lots of features and is easy to use. It is a little pricey though. I've been using mine for years.

ok, with the ASR, you can record in MP3, OGG, WAV, and WMA formats. you can choose one of 18 different bit rates (range 8kbps - 320kbps). you can set it so if there are extended periods of silence in whatever you're recording, it will eliminate them. you can have it stop after a certain amt of time. there are setting so you can normalize volume throughout the track (if one oart has a lower volume then the rest, it'll raise that volume automatically).
In edit mode, you can cut, copy, paste sections of the track. you can fade in/out, add silence, amplify sections, reverse amplify, invert sections, add effects (like reverb) and filters. and you can change things on either thr right or left channel, or both.
you can try the program for free (up to a 2 minute recording) or buy it for $29.95. to download it, Click Here. it'll give you all the info...

This is a great tutorial for one of my favorite programs, VirtualDub. All you have to do is a little bit of googling

WDW History: I've always stayed offsite (my own house), because I've always lived in Orlando. But since I've become a Cast Member, I've thought about staying onsite.
I miss the moving movie screens in the pre show.. The Radok screens
