Scariest Disney moment

Post by AKLRULZ » Jul Sun 02, 2006 6:53 pm

Got a moment or a time at Disney that scared the you know what outta you?

For us, we lost our youngest son at Typhoon Lagoon when he was only two years old. Sheer terror for 15 minutes which seemed like forever.

We briefly misplaced our younger child at MK when she was about that age also; she always had a tendency to wander off and explore on her own and had to be watched constantly. I don't think she was missing as long as 15 minutes, but any amount of time is too long when your kid is missing. Losing a child at a water park would be awful; you must have been frantic!

The first time I had to deal with a lost parent. I really wasn't expecting it, and despite the parent in tears, I couldn't act like I was nervous. Thankfully, the ordeal was really short, but I was a bit shaken after that because I tried to imagine myself in the parents shoes. I had to go backstage and really compose myself.

Dude, was that you I talked to then?! Seriously the CMs trying to help at TL were amazingly calm, but focused on helping.

I scared my mom while "lost" down there. Back then, it was just MK and Epcot. We were at Epcot and the Electrical Parade was starting. We were in front og the Main Street Bakery. I was about 6 at the time, and wanted to up front on the curb to see the parade. My mom was standing right up against the building. well, the parade was going and I was sitting there watching, all of a sudden, I was pulled roughly to my feet, passed back towards the building like a piece of meat, confronted by my hysterical mother and left with a sore arm/shoulder for about a week (from about 6 people passing me back by the arm).

I can't top that losing a child is scary, But my scariest time was when i went to WDW Magic kindom 3 weeks after 911 and the park was a ghost town you walked right on all rides and no one greated you. It just didn't have its charm,(of course i understood why but i was hoping to forget the tragedy) I hope neither never happen again

^Heheh...

My scariest moment was at Disney's California Adventure when my cousin and I lost our parents. Our moms rode ahead of us on Soarin', and when we got off, they were no where to be found. The cast member at Soarin' even let us use his own personal cell phone because his company one didn't work! After contacting our parents, he actually left his position as greeter to "escort" us to the Orange Stinger where we met up with our parents. I feel really bad that I didn't get his name, though.

I don't remember how old my son was, but he was not tall enough to look over the railing at Carosel Of Progress. He put his head in-between the slats of the railing and got his head stuck, real good. We could'nt get his head out. My wife almost pulled his ears off. I tried to bend the slats, but the slats were stronger than me. Now it's panic time. I have never, not been able to brake something. A man came forward and told us to lift the child's body even with his head. We did, and his head slide out as if it had butter applied. His ears stayed red for awhile.

Oh yeah, once I got my hand stuck in between the paddles and the wall that are attached in the exit/Single Ride Queue on Grizzly River Run. Got it out just in time, but in the meantime, the load cast member was stiffling a laugh while I was trying to pull it out!

The scariest thing for me is leaving the park on the last day not knowing when we'll ever be back and the only part left for the trip is the credit card bill :|

I don't have as much of a scary moment as losing a child, but I did get trounced by the wave pool in TL . I got pulled under (Literally) by the undertow and pummled by the waves in the wave pool and my one of my toes really got really scraped (it was a huge/deep chunk of skin that got ripped off).. It was scary too... since the water grabbed me and kept me under for longer than I wanted/expected/was ready for. I got out of the water after that and sat in the shallows for a while to collect myself/restrain the tears until my husband came back (he was swimming in the deeper water) to bring me to the medic station. My toe even bled for a while (even after the nice people at the medic station wrapped it up for me). We left soon after that and went to downtown disney... Shopping made me feel much better ;) Give me a nice CALM pool or even a wild waterslide anyday.. you can keep the wavepool!

I don't really have a Scary Moment like loosing a child. Or can't find my parents.

So, probably my most scariest Disney moment was when I rode RNR, EE, M:S, or ToT for the first time.

I was at MK weekend following 9/11 and while not "scary" it was quite empty and felt very eerie. I remember looking down Frontierland from Spalsh Mountain at mid to late morning and seeing like 5 people walking around. That was it.

Yeah, I've never experienced the scariness of losing a party member. Lightning once struck insanely close to me, but fortunately didn't hurt anyone.

I'll throw a shoutout for Alien Encounter. (Of course, after the first time, not scary.)
