Wow, I've never had any desire to stay at a Value property but this really changes the game and I might consider it - that is a lot of space for not a lot of price. I wish they'd do something like this at the Deluxe properties, but it is good to see them catering a bit more to larger families (like mine). If I could just get over the outside entryways.

We've stayed at All Stars and Pop, but just didn't care for it (have to agree about not liking outside entryways). But it is nice to see Disney catering to larger families...finally!

We had to use the Ft. Wilderness cabins for our family of 6 (2 adults, 2 teens and 2 3yr olds), so this *might* prove to be a viable option. We are 5 now, the older son now off on his own, but still might prove better than POR for five. Having the kitchenette and dining table in the cabin made it much more relaxing, not unlike coming "home" to an apartment, and I suspect the feeling here would be much the same...

If I didn't have such a mental block against staying at the All Stars, the suites would seem like a nice place to stay. 8)

Well that is my exact problem, too. We are super spoiled by the service and ammenities of the Deluxe properties.

We had always stayed at Deluxe or the Home Away From Home (DVC) resorts, and I was completely spoiled and had NO desire to stay at a Value resort. However, my wife and I took a trip down two years ago during March without the kids. Due to a contact that is a WDW employee, we got complimentary Park Hopper passes and three nights at the ASM for half the normal room rate. I figured since we were getting an on-property room and tickets for $181 total, I could adjust. When else will I ever get a 4-day, 3-night WDW vacation for that bargain?

I was very pleasantly surprised. Yes, the room was a standard Hampton Inn type room, but the resort was great. It was very well themed, and all we were going to do was use the room to sleep anyway. We weren't even planning on using the pool. While I would always prefer to be spoiled, my kids would probably love some of the decor. Now that suites are starting to be an option, it may be on our list for the future.

No Kidding! Me too! And not to mention the CONVIENENCE!

If you don't have or aren't ready for wall to wall kids, the All Stars can be a headache.

Good point !!! When my wife and I stayed there, we were used to kids so that aspect didn't affect us at all. However, if you're wanting a more quiet setting, the Value level resorts should probably be avoided.

I was talking about these with my dad once and he was saying that it is more money to stay in one suite than two rooms at AS. The kitchen isn't as much of a good thing as we usually travel by air and Magical Express, so don't get to stop and buy food to make.
