I was lucky enough to ride Sorin' last May when it first opened in Epcot. I rode it three times! It's absolutely amazing. I love the smell of the oranges when you fly over the orange groves!

I was totally blown away by Soarin' Over California when I finally decided it probably wouldn't make me seasick. It was so amazing and the effects are spectacular. It's espeically fun when you've been to the places in CA they show. I think it might be the first ride where I've actually seen people spontaneously cheer at the end.

I heard a rumor that John Williams had a chance to ride the attraction when it was still under development at WDI. He was so impressed that he offered to score the attraction free of charge. Any basis in fact to that story? The music is incredible--one of the best attraction scores in recent years.
Loved it when I rode Soarin' at DCA. Can't wait to visit Epcot to see WDW's rendition. (Though I hear the only real difference is the queue.)

Yeah the difference is the queue and the name of the attraction. The video is just the same. I actually like the queue in DCA better than the one in Epcot. Also, some people who go on the ride don't know all the places are in CA. I heard one guy go, "hey, is that new york?" during the flight

I'll bet that was the downtown LA night scene... with the Staples Center and all...
Hey, can't blame him, Staples looks a lot like Madison Square Garden, right? Right? Yeah?
No.
Teehee.

Ya know, I think you're right about that part. That scene sometimes gets me nauseous.

I've only been on it once but I also felt a bit queezy during that scene, but the rest of it was just awesome! Did anyone see the History Channel show about WDW where they talked about first coming up with the idea for Soarin'? Apparently the head creator came up with the design for it using an Erector Set and actually used that as the model!

I've enjoyed this ride at DCA, and am looking forward to riding it again when I go to WDW in Sept. It is one of my favorites

FYI -- 6 of the top 10 most requested songs on Subsonic Radio are from Soarin' over California.
Betcha didn't know that! (I didn't either until I checked out the Top 25 Requests today.)
