The $50 bills are still available through the celebration. There are two versions; the second version will be released on July 7th, and created by Charles Boyer. They can be bought on property, but not ususally found at the Disney Stores unless you get lucky.

Thank you so much. Isn't stitch going to be on one, or is it Mickey only?

That's what Disney counts on, people using them as souveniers and never cashing them in.

That's why I scan the bigger bills for souveniers. I usually keep a one dollar for each of the years we go, but I just scan the front and back of the 5's 10's and 20's. You still get the picture, but you get to spend the money. And no .... I've never tried to pass off a scan at the parks!!

If I purchase Disney Dollars, are they good for ever. I was wanting to give them to relatives who may not be going for awhile.

The Disney Dollars are good for as long as Disney is in business. I'd say that is as close as forever as you can get.

It is interesting to see Disney going back to utilizing the Disney Dollars more. It had seemed to me that they were sort of dying out for a while. I have a "Dumbo" dollar staring at me on my refrigerator reminding me I have to go back to Disney soon! It would be neat to have a $50 Disney Dollar, but I could see that $50 better used going toward a nice original Disney art piece.

Last time we went, that's what we gave the kids for Christmas. I asked a friend who was going before we did to pick some up at WDW. Unfortunately, the kids didn't know what to make of it at first and we had to prompt it out by asking questions like "what kind of money is that" and "where do you think you can spend it" :?
It worked out well in the end because it was their money to spend how they wanted, and they loved using Disney Dollars at Disney - you kind of become more immersed in the vacation experience when using "local currency" :D
