I ran across this page while checking Disney park hours. I found this to be somewhat interesting and wanted to share the link. Wow what a fleet of vehicles.

One thing I noticed is it doesn't have the newest newest buses. They're like the ones in the pictures but they don't have the window in the back. I still like the older ones there are more places to sit, I know the new ones are for more handicap space but I still would rather sit down in a cramped space than stand in a wide open space. JMO

I agree, the new ones are very neat but I feel sometimes that the bus rides can be the best times of the day (to sit) after a long long day at the park

I also miss having as much seating on the new busses...but it must be done, I guess. At least they are adding tvs and theme park music to the busses now

Ah, the WDW busses, fastest attraction at the resort, depending on your driver.

There really isn't a bad way to get around the resort. I just wish there was an easier way to get from resort to resort rather than having to get there via a park (obviously this isn't a problem in some cases - like the lake transport from Contemporary to Wilderness to Fort Wilderness) It you decide to hang out at the pool for the day at the Beach Club Resort and then plan on going to Chef Mickey's for dinner it take a while to either take the bus to MK and then grab the monorail or walk through Epcot and catch the monorail to the TTC then transfer.

My fiancee and I got so incredible tired of bus rides while at the resort last December... basically, from now on, when we go, we're pitching in the extra ca$h to stay at a monorail resort or an Epcot-area deluxe... cut down on some of those bus rides...

I've never been on a Disney bus, we have always rented a car and used that along side monorails and boats! Then again we are tied to going in shcool holidays (never take a job as teacher!) so the queues for buses always looked horrendously long which puts us off using them!

THe bus rides can be burdensome depending on how many stops. It used to be the number of stops at Ft. Wildernerness was crazy.

I remember they had a Chip, a Dale, and a Chip & Dale. That was when I was a kid, I haven't been there in a while.
Did anyone ever notice that the buses don't actually run on a specific route? It is kind of up to the driver to decide the best way. I can remember going to DTD and one driver one night went the short route and the very next night about the same time another driver went the long way around Old Key West and Saratoga Springs. Then to EPCOT, onetime went around the back of EPCOT and the next time went onto the highway. I is difficult to figure out what they are doing.
But they are a bunch of nice people. You can ask them anything and they will give their honest opinion.

They are given routes by the dispatcher, and it depends on how the traffic is, the time of day, whether they swing to the right or to the left to DTD for instance. It's such a wild 'science' it amazes me. They are also pulled from resort to resort - they don't necessarily do round trips to one resort all day.

If I were a bus driver I would get bored of following the same route all day anyway

It's gotta be fairly relaxing though. You can just set your mind on auto pilot and go. I'd love to retire to Florida (in 35 years) and drive the buses or hover buses or whatever we have then.

Does anyone know if Disney is ever planning on sending a monorail line out to connect MGM and Animal Kingdom to the line? That would make it so we'd never feel the need to drive at all!
