New food changes

Post by G2-4T » Jan Sun 01, 2006 4:46 pm

So over the last year there were a lot of changes to the fast food options around the parks. And since WDW's website is not up to date with the changes do any of you have a list of what all has changed in the last year? I know Sunshine Food Fair in The Land and Studios Catering Co. in MGM are new and supposedly the Village Haus and The Plaza Pavillion/Tomorrowland Terrace are changed as well... Thanks for the updated info!

I'm not sure, but I do know that the Carribean beach resort needs to get better food. That stuff was way to dry. My brother and I were turned off of the resort because of it. We prefer Corinado Springs, love the buffet style.

Forget to ask, does anyone know why the resturant over by tomorrowland is always closed? You know the one it is between tomorrowland and main street, and people hang out there to see the fireworks.

Is it only open during peak hours, months, or what?

It's the Tomorrowland Terrace Noodle Station in that location. They were having staffing issues, then some other kind of issues, and I have no clue what issues now.

There have been a load of changes to counter service restaurants in parks recently. Along with those, G2, are the Backlot Express, Studio Catering, Electric Umbrella, Lotus Blossom Cafe. I think Tusker House has too, but I can't find the old menu to verify. Most are just small changes to standard menu items, not as major as the four you mentioned. They've also added kosher meal items to several counter service restaurants in the four parks, but I can't find my list.

Thanks for the updates - just wanted to make sure I hadn't missed any of the big ones. Sounds like they are really working on adding variety to the menus all over the parks...

Rumors are right on the Village Haus, an Italian theme with pizza and Italian-style sandwiches. As for the rest of the changes - Mickeymac had it right on with the list from what I could tell when I was there. Tomorrowland Terrace still seems to be a seasonal-only place but is Asian noodles now, Studios Catering is Mediterannian , and of course the Sunshine Seasons Food Fair.

Ate at the Sunshine Seasons, I miss the old version with the umbrella tables, fountain, and individual stands, but the food at the new one was good. Though with just 3 items per station it might be considered short on variety, we'll have to see if they add any more. I want to say the old ones had 4-5 main choices - seemed like there was more to choose from but maybe it was just me... Still - good food, not a huge departure from the old.

I think the new land food area is a big improvement. There is much more variety to the food and more seating! I ordered a sandwich that was so big I shared it with my 2 sons.

I agree, I like the new Land food court.

I dilike that the skewer prawns are gone from O'Hana.

I found a picture of the inside of the land, while the balloons are ok with the seasons, I prefer the suns around the world. I also liked the fountain. I don't know if it was meant to look like this, but to me the rain cloud always looked as if it were filling the fountain
