This was just a random question that I thought of one day, but does anyone know why the Carousel of Progress's rotation direction was changed after moving to WDW, besides the fact that it was a new building? Why did the Imagineers decide to change the direction in which the theater moved?

they didn't change the rotations . the imagineers set it up upside down so its in realality is going in the correct way...
well the whole show was also completly changed with different track and sets
and the fact that wdw does not have the future city exit arena that was located in disneyland cuz thats where all the garbage is crushed from mainstreet usa

i sure hope that you arn't taking me to serious cuz i don't have any idea of what i am talking about most of the time
but the fact that wdw does not have the same exit as it did in disneyland is probly the reason for it going in the other direction
as far as i know the carousel has had about 4 refurbs so by the time the do the next refurb it might go in the other direction

I really believed you about flipping it upside-down
Hey they can do anything at Disney right?
Anyway, I understand now what you mean about the exit in a different spot. I forgot about that one obvious reason

again
Thanks!

it's probably just the fact that Walt said there would never be another Disneyland. When WDW started to be built, they did things essentially the same, but different. just look at the layout of the lands. not really surprising that the rides would be slightly different too (ala PotC or HM).

well the reason why pirates of the caribbean was built the way it is due to the high water table in fla { only 6-10 feet down } if they built it with the water fall drops it would be in a submarine. plus the casle is not sleep beauty's like in disneyland its cinderella's castle
