Flights of Wonder Closing

Post by wewantsdaredhead » Dec Mon 11, 2017 2:58 pm

In a move that is sure to anger a lot of people, I just read that FoW is closing and it will be replaced by an "Up" show of some sort involving birds.

Personally, I don't care much--I have never seen FoW--I'm not much into birds--Sorry!!! :( :| ...but i know some people love it! On another WDW forum I visit there is a couple that it's a "must do." In fact, I seem to recall the wife gets choked up because of one part...

Am I missing out by not seeing FoW? What do you guys think?

I've never seen this specific raptor show either, so I can't tell you if it's a "must see" before it closes. But I can tell you there are a lot of very good raptor shows out there that teach you a lot of great things about them. Disney doesn't have the corner on the market, so if you don't get to FoW it's not as bad as if, for example, you never rode Small World and missed out.

God forbid.

If you're there, you might want to check it out. I wouldn't put it on a "must-do" list, but it is enjoyable. And Figment enjoyed watching it while I would go over to Expedition Everest or on Kali River Rapids. It does have a bit of an educational aspect which is always fun as well. The FoW show has a bit of a story to it, so it sort of seems like they are just changing the story a bit.

I agree - it's enjoyable but not a must do. For us, it was always a good way to sit down and relax and be entertained at the same time. I'll miss the world famous expedition leader Guana Joe and his FoB (Fear of Birds).

Yes, you are missing out. It certainly isn't an "E-ticket," but it is very enjoyable. And like everything Disney... it is done very well. You don't have to be into birds to enjoy the show, so please try to make it before they close.
