Disney Resort Pools

Do you take advantage of them? Some of the best are at AKL, WL and of course YC/BC! We love taking breaks from touring or even taking a day off just to lounge by the pools. I'll be the first to admit even that I've pushed ahead of other kids than my own to get to the front of the resort pools' water slides! (KIDDING!)

I'm not a big swimmer, so I usually don't, but I really do like the pool at AKL. WL is also a good pool.
Of course, everyone raves about the pool at Yatch and Beach club.
I remember when I was at All Star Music in January 2002 that no one was in the pool (it was also about 50 degrees). It was so weird to see a pool at Disney without anyone in it!

i really dont swim but i think one of the best pools are the ones that are secluded and very few people seem to ever use them. i cant remember the name of the pool but it was at the polynesian, and no one used it cause they always used the pool with the volcano. but there isnt anything better than almost having a whole pool to yourself.

The pools at the Boardwalk are great for ALL the reasons mentioned....There is a great slide, a nice adult pool, and a nice poolside bar......How can it get any better.......?

We are using our arrival day to spend some time at the Wilderness Lodge pool. Why waste a full days ticket on the evening!!

I've never been able to stay on property before, so I haven't been able to visit the resort pools. We'll be staying there next year December, so I'll have the chance to check some of the pools out and pick one as a fav. from the sounds of it, though, I'd probably pick the smaller polynesian pool as it's less crowded...

I've only stayed at the value resort "Jazz" a few times. Never been able to take advantage of the pool, but have gone for walks around the resort at night. The pool we saw was really impressive, with a big Little Mermaid statue. It looked really nice and seemed like people were still using it pretty late. Is there a time frame that the pool can be used at the resorts?

Yeah Blackie we have stayed at the All-Star Music resort too. They have two pools one shaped like a piano and a larger one shaped like a guitar. They let you swim from 10am to 10pm with a lifeguard on duty. After 10pm you can stay in the pool until midnight, but it is labeled as "quiet hours". Since the Value resorts are heavily populated with families with small children I've not known the quiet hours to be much quieter. If you have a room directly facing the pool expect some noise until they close the pool.

We like the pool at Coronodo Springs. It's huge, has a slide, and a myhian (spelling?) temple that has staires with water running down it. Pretty cool! It has a great play area for kids and a nice kiddie pool. The hot tub seats about 100! (Not really, but it's HUGE!)

With all there is to do at Disney we usually do not dedicate a day to hit the pools. We hit the pools at night once we are done with the parks.
We did make an exception for the Yacht and Beach club pool on our honeymoon. We specifically stayed at the resort to go to the pool. So we made sure we spent an entire day there.

First post for me. Yay
Anyway, we try to use the pool at our resort almost every day whether it's for an afternoon break or a late night activity. We've only used the Contemporary, Polynesian, and Grand Floridian pools. They aren't anything astounding like Yacht & Beach Club, but they get the job done in relaxation. (And they have a hot tub

)

First off, maxime29 - welcome to the Subsonic forums! And I agree with you, the pools are great, but nothing beats the hot tubs!!!

The lodge at AKL is undoughtedly good, but if you just want to relax and sleep or read a book round the pool so that you're wide awake for the fireworks later, you cant beat the little pools found at the Port Orleans Riverside!

When I was little I used to the love the Port Orleans Mardi Gras pool because of the slide and the giant shell. We always stay at Old Key West and I used to make my parents take me to Port Orleans. I haven't seen the Old Key West pool since the renovations though. Is it any good? I heard there's a huge slide.

Oh I loved that slide. I think I made my family stay at Port Orleans just so we could use their pool. I can't imagine having a lot of pool time in those days, but I suppose a giant blue dragon deserves some special attention.
