Disney Springs Restaurant: Paddlefish

Post by NaCler » Jan Sat 28, 2017 5:15 pm

The restaurant that is taking over the old Fulton's location is now known as Paddlefish and it now has an opening date of 02/04/2017. Here is the story from WDWNT.com: http://wdwnt.com/blog/2017/01/opening-d ... y-springs/

And a link to their website, where you can browse their menu, here: http://www.paddlefishrestaurant.com/?CM ... dw-gmap-75

I will have to reserve judgement on this one as I was upset Fulton's was going away (as I LOVED their Stone Crab claws). Please post any pics, reviews or thoughts on this thread.

I never went to Fulton's as Mom had the shellfish allergy. I do remember seeing it on our DTD trips though. Will be interesting to see what people think of the new Paddlefish.

A couple things look intriguing. But nothing really yanks my chain. Prices seem high, even for Disney Springs.

Looking at their parent company, it looks like they have a few spots in DS. Anyone know the ratio of actual stores to Disney-run fillers for DS? At DTD here, there is a pretty good number (I want to say) of storefronts that are run by Disney when the previous tenant went under and a new occupant could not be found. Part of it is to keep up appearances and part of it is to keep rent high. When House of Blues closed (they moved down the street to a larger space where they will die because that center is terrible), Disney went in and operated the establishment until they started demolition.

Here is an early review of the restaurant showing pics of the restaurant, with reviews of the food coming later this week. From the WDWNT.com crew: http://wdwnt.com/blog/2017/02/photos-pa ... y-springs/

Curious choice for a name, it is actually a super (at least for now) sustainable fish, it can actually be eaten, but they can turn south so fast that it is like cooking a skate/ray.
