Animal Kingdom's new Poop Treats

Did anyone else see the new offerings at Zuri's Sweet Shop at Animal Kingdom? They are offering treats called "Match the Species" which are poop shaped treats that match those of the Elephant, Giraffe, Cotton Top Tamarin, and Hippo. They seem a little pricey at $4 each, but I can see them being pretty popular with kids. Here is a link to a review on the Disney Food Blog as well as a look around the new shop. I read a few different reviews and found it interesting that the animal handlers worked with the pastry chefs to get the most accurate looking poop treats

My first thought was, "Oh for s***'s sake!" Then I realized, yes, it is.
Pretty sure I couldn't bring myself to try them. It reminds me of that disgusting baby shower game where candy bars of different types are melted and smashed in a diaper, and the guests try to guess the identity of the candy. Ick.

Yeah, they just look gross. But like I said, I can see kids finding them pretty fun.

"Kids might love them", but c'mon Disney, is it really necessary to pander to the scatological fascination of juveniles? Humor like this seems like a low brow way to get attention. As Jerry Seinfeld says "...it's not really "dirty", it's just lazy."

It sounds like the poop treats have already been pulled from the park ~ too many guest complaints apparently. Seems like they might have seen that one coming

I heard a review on a podcast, which said it was dry and inedible. So it might not taste very good.

Oh, the articles I saw didn't mention that ~ they were definitely too expensive to not taste good. I wonder if they will try a reformulation of the recipe and reintroduce them?

The blog I read this morning indicated that guest complaints may have been the catalyst for their demise.
