It wasn't fake. Trust me. I have friends who saw the whole thing.masterj345 wrote:yea that was a sad story. i saw the pic of the monorail afterward (unless it was fake) it looked pretty trashed.

Lion, I was wondering but how tall do you have to be in order to be Chip or Dale.

Re: WDW college program experiences
I just saw this thread...wow! You knew the driver Soarin? That was such a sad story. Especially since I used to drive monorails (not for Disney, but ex-Disney monorails...the Mark IV's that ran before the Mark VI's). I have had a facination for them since...
Re: WDW college program experiences
I did.... one of the guys I went to church with was a monorail CM, so we'd go visit him a lot and got to always ride up front, and the young man who was killed was our driver several times. Very friendly, an absolute sweetie. Driving the monorails is a job I would NOT want regardless, I'd be terrified!MmeLeota wrote:I just saw this thread...wow! You knew the driver Soarin? Chip and Dale are in the short range, around 5'2'', 5'3'', I think.

Wow, Soarin... seems like you'll have a lot of stories to tell when we meet you in January! I'm really looking forward to it.

Re: WDW college program experiences
I look forward to sharing them all with everyone! From the 2009 CP to the complete story of the 2011 one and then everything else in between. I've considered writing them all down, might be a good idea...Mousekedude wrote:Wow, Soarin... seems like you'll have a lot of stories to tell when we meet you in January! Re: WDW college program experiences
Indeed I am, in January! This will be my third one. However, I am also waiting on a response regarding a professional position with Disney (still in Florida) so if I get it, no CP. I'll have to cancel it.ntgre wrote:Are you going to the CP this year Soarin?Soarin08 wrote:I look forward to sharing them all with everyone! OMG, I'm so jealous of you guys who can live in the US. I am now having the urge to being a CP!!!!Soarin08 wrote:Indeed I am, in January! This will be my third one. Re: WDW college program experiences
Where do you live? There are two programs for non-US citizens, the International College Program and then the Cultural Representative Program. The International College Program is open to anyone worldwide and you'd work like the American CPs; the Cultural Representative Program is a year-long program and those are the people who work in World Showcase. My best friend on my last college program was an international student so it does happen quite a bit!ntgre wrote:OMG, I'm so jealous of you guys who can live in the US. I live in HK. But I don't want to work in HKDL beacause there aren't much CMs to get along with. Really want to be a Character performer in the CPSoarin08 wrote:Where do you live? Re: WDW college program experiences
One of my best friends on my 2009 CP was from HK and she too said the exact same thing you have about HKDL. I know you'd have to audition to be a character performer in a city near you that WDW was hosting auditions in... but that might only happen here in the US. I'm not entirely sure.ntgre wrote:I live in HK. But I don't want to work in HKDL beacause there aren't much CMs to get along with. I know that in HK if you want to audition to be a character performer there is only one place outside HKDL where you can audition.Soarin08 wrote:One of my best friends on my 2009 CP was from HK and she too said the exact same thing you have about HKDL. Update: I will be a relief coordinator later this month. Right now I have to be trained first at the Hall of Presidents (which I got yesterday) and Liberty Sq Riverboat (next week) then i'll gain my shadows as a coordinator the week later is what i'm thinking will happen!

I know this is probably your first flight...and it's mine too...ha, ha
