I know these aren't free, but we like to collect pressed pennies...you pay 50 cents for each one, but a few dollars in and you have a souvenir from each land/park. One downisde, I have not been able to find a pressed penny book like they used to sell.

Oh, I love to collect these too! I tried to get one of every design at Disneyland one time we went. It was an adventure trying to hunt each machine down. Sometimes a machine would be out of order when we went by in the morning, and working again in the afternoon ~ it does add up quickly though, especially when you include the pressed quarters! I wonder if you can find the book on-line?

I would be glad to look for one of these for you in a couple of weeks if you want.

How kind of you! Thank you so much for your offer! We're going to be in SoCal this week (no time for DL though :( ) and will probably be stopping by both DTD and the outlet and I plan on looking in both places.

I agree with you Amy, it does add up, and for a while they were becoming scarce. During the 50th they had the milestones pennies...1 for each year the park was open. We attempted to collect them all, but we couldn't find some machines and others were broken. I like to look on ebay to see if anyone has any.

No problem, just let me know if you don't snag one somewhere and I'll look.

I like to collect the guide maps and the time guide. The map shows what changed, and the time guide has the date that I was there.

In 2000 they gave the first thousand visitors to epcot a big spaceship earth model, definitely the nicest freebie i've ever got at Disney!

Oooo! That sounds cool! When you say "big", how big was it? Did they give it to you as you entered and you had to lug it around all day through the park? Do you have pictures of it?

I will take one for you Amy. Its 10 inches tall and it comes apart so you can put stuff in it. They did'nt offer to ship it to our room but I went to a gift shop and asked if they would, of course they were happy too. I smiled when I saw everybody lugging theres around all day :D They gave us a choice of a few other things too, I wish I could remember what they all were. I know one was a reserved spot to see illuminations that night.

Thanks! I'm curious to see what it looks like ~ what an awesome souvenir to remember your trip by! And you were one smart cookie to have it delivered back to your room :D
