If you're staying domestic it might be cheaper but the entire system isn't that expensive to build in another country (especially when you're not paying tarrifs). You can even buy a used one online.

Update: Was checking the official AMC theaters website (
www.amctheaters.com or
www.amcentertainment.com) and they say the new dine in movie theaters for Pleasure Island will open sometime in May. Maybe they'll be open in time for Pirates.

Any chance you can take a camera along and post a trip report?

I can try. I don't think there would be a problem before the movie starts.

The reason I said it was partially as a joke... well mostly as a joke. Anyway, movie theaters have been upgrading their tech to catch people that are recording audio/video during the movie. It ranges from digital watermarks in the print (to identify the theater/showing), cameras that detect digital recorders, and cameras that look for faces that are not responding properly to the movie.

Maybe the movie just stinks and people are just disinterested!
That's interesting that they are trying such high tech methods to cut down on piracy though...

There was a large group of annoying high school teenagers who had cameras with them when I saw Tron Legacy at AMC at DTD in December and there was no one who told them to put the cameras away. This was the type of group that was trying to get attention from people, so the fact that no one who worked at the theater asked them to shut up and calm down was surprising.

To clarify: I only want pics of what the theatre (and maybe menu too) looks like and only before the film. I am NOT asking you to film the movie LOL!

I know. I'm just stating that I won't be expecting any consequences if I bring a camera.

They're located at Downtown Disney where there's a ton of tourists. Tourists have cameras, so if those tourists go see movies, many of them will have them cameras with them.

The staff at theaters mostly don't care, the only people who do care are the movie studios. I remember when I went to see Fantasia 2000, obviously in the year 2000, there was a guy who apparently felt it was appropriate to set up a tripod and camcorder to film the movie. Since this was before p2p and widespread piracy, no one batted an eye. If he would have tried that today he would have possibly been thrown in jail.

Excellent! I'm glad you're not promoting piracy on-line - you're one of the greatest human beings on earth! A better person than me!

I appreciate your praise, Wizz...

I would if I could! You should see the collection of pirated movies I have! I even have Iron Man 3.
But what about those gaffers? They need money for things like snuff.
