Were you at the park or can you see those from your house?!
Same as Wishes I can see/hear them from my apartment.

Night one should just about be officially in the books for this parade.

According to the Disney Parks Blog, they posted a video of a preview of the parade and the float said "Disney's Electrical Parade". As for the fireworks show, from what I understand it is a good vs evil. I wonder if it was a full test of the show since it is supposed to be a 360 degree show. It can't be that anticlimactic since it supposed to be good overcoming evil.

There was a press meeting a week or so ago. The pictures and info coming out is great. The WDW Radio show had some good video from the press meeting.

I saw MSEP in DL when I was 12 and 14 but don't really remember too much other than the Pete's Dragon float. That was my favorite. Back in the 80's Pete's Dragon was played every year like the Sound of Music or The 10 Commandments. I need to ask my parents for a copy of the pictures. That would be a great addition to my Disney memorabilia collection.

It is so sad to know that after Summer Nightastic ends that the regularly scheduled program of Spectromagic and Wishes will resume. While we love WDW, we are ready for a change. We no longer really get excited for the fireworks. The only reason we are going this year is because we purchased annual passes last year and want to get the most of them. After this trip I doubt we will be back until after the Fantasy Land expansion is complete.

They did use perimiters last night but there is a part in the middle (it's going off as I type this) that seemed more of a "finale" (imagine a softer version of the Finale of Holiday Wishes) than the end of the show last night.

I'll let you all know if it seems different in a few minutes.

 :( :( :( :(
I would guess that they might not have shown all the fireworks last night so they could save them up for the grand opening?!

Ok. So a few minutes became hours.

They did save some fireworks for the official opening day. Not much but it was a better "fianle" than the previous night. I guess I'll have to see it from the park along with "Disney's Electrical Parade" Maybe tomorrow, maybe Thursday (Wednesday is planned for a soft opening of the new Harry Potter land at Uni and SeaWorld at night).

Wow, what a rough life...Disney tomorrow, maybe Thursday...HP and SeaWorld on Wednesday
I would love to see some photos of the HP if you get any to share. Soft opening would be grand, less people right?! I'm not a big fan but I would think there could be some cool thematic touches given the story line...

I have a feeling they will be against any photos until after the "grand opening" ceremonies. At least that is what I've heard, but I will bring a camera just in case.

Oddly enough, the commercial last night had the announcer calling it the "Main Street Electrical Parade" while the video showed the float titled "Disney's Electrical Parade" - you gotta love the consistency that Disney Marketing used for that ad!

More than the name on the float...it's what the song says at the beginning.

It started on Main Street in Disneyland...then a version came to the Magic Kingdom in Florida. It was when it moved to DCA that it changed to "Disney's Electrical Parade."

It is the MSEP. This is easily confirmed over here and the song clearly states the MSEP: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L5FEeOLcefY

The only thing that is incorrect is the float that says DEP since that is the California float.

I'm back from Universal (more like just the Harry Potter area) and SeaWorld.

If you get a chance, see the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and ride Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey. It is worth however long you wait to ride it. Queue is amazing but some of the talking portraits and characters seem to have only two short loops and in a long line like I was in today, I was getting annoyed rather quckly. :( I will not give out any details about the ride or the story behind it but I will tell you all that you will like Butterbeer and Pumpkin Juice. Butterbeer is the winner between those two but Pumpkin Juice is not bad at all. They also sell the typical water, lemonade and beer. Boarshead seems to be the bar/tavern of the new land. Haven't tried it yet. Olivanders Wand Shop is more like a show while you get your wand and they were only letting a handful in at a time. Again, didn't get to try it. All in all I will be going again before the "official" opening and getting some pictures of everything. All the shops have unique windows (you'll see what I mean).

SeaWorld is SeaWorld. Rode Manta (if you haven't yet, at least try it). Saw the Penquins (entrance smelled like bad fish and garbage way into the building and made us nauseous and made the trip a lot less fun than we wanted...).

Glad to be home and I'm off to bed.
