You know I wondered about Dinosaur this time. I thought it was a little more of a "show" when we were last there in 2000. It did seem a bit choppy and dark this time.Future Guy wrote:...Meanwhile, the park's only dark ride, Dinosaur, has had so many effects deactivated (a pure cost-cutting measure, BTW) that it's basically just a loud bouncy ride through the dark with the occasional strobe light flashed in your face.

Re: New Animal Kingdom Area
I have always wanted to see Australia added to AK. I took the backstage tour years ago, If it's still an option I highly recommend it. Such an amazing park! I saw and learned so much in 3 1/2 hrs. Disney has spared no expence for the health, safety and comfort of the animals they care for. I really hate the term, but most of the animals Disney has in the park are "surplus" animals, or rescued animals, such as the tigers and some of the elephants. The tigers originally brought to the park when Asia first opened were all mixed breed spayed females, bengel/siberian. One of the elephants was rescued from a closing roadside zoo and malnorished. They showed us a tusk that it had lost and how it was malformed because of poor nutrition. This made me feel alot better about Disney getting into the live animal business.

That would be an interesting tour to take. I think Disney has done quite a nice job with their live animals.Sharonofwindham wrote:I have always wanted to see Australia added to AK. I've always felt a transition in to Australia by walking through the Great Barrier Reef would be great, and could even tie in to Nemo.boilerbabe wrote:We do enjoy AK but I feel the park is very spread out, definitely alot of walking! A barrier reef attraction would be cool, I'm sure they could do something totally different than the Seas at EPCOT.

i think they should build a sea part- ive always said they should build a disneysea in ameirca, well perhaps a animal kingdom-sea would be a good start.... add jules verne land or some other ride - heavy stuff -maybe an underwater tunnel or two .
Re: New Animal Kingdom Area
I love the Animal Kingdom but its certainly not my fravorite ... I voted but honestly could probably say that all the areas are the same for me. Its always so hot and humid at the AK because of all the trees ... makes for a tough day and then it closes so early... The animals aren't the only reason people are there so why not keep the park open later ... oh I know ... money

I'm kind of the opposite ... I love the park but don't really take much time to appreciate the animals, although i do agree ... Disney does a fantastic job with their animals.

I guess I am the only one that thinks Oasis would be cool. Lots of water.

We already got Living Seas tied to NEMO, and then there's Nemo the Musical at AK - how much more NEMO do we need?!?MansionButler wrote:I've always felt a transition in to Australia by walking through the Great Barrier Reef would be great, and could even tie in to Nemo.boilerbabe wrote:We do enjoy AK but I feel the park is very spread out, definitely alot of walking!
