Well, I think it's established that Disney World has a great hit on their hands here. Now the question is, what is your favorite part of Soarin? Which part makes you squeal, or pull your feet up, or make you laugh out loud?

I love the smells of pine and orange. I wonder if they use the same formula for the orange that was used in Horizons. I remember that as being a more intense smell, but then it had to fill a smaller area.

Ever since Soarin' opened with DCA, my fave part has always been the Mickey head on the golfball as you soar over PGA West... first off, my girlfriend's family owns a timeshare on one of the buildings to the right of that shot, so I've been there, second, the Mickey head is sooooo easy to miss as the golfball flies by.

That, and the skiier who bails.

It's all great from start to finish. I am completely in love with Soarin', but the skiier is definitely my favorite part! Ha ha ha I laugh every time!

The fireworks at the end ARE pretty cool. I love the fact you fly right over DisneyLand. Nice touch.

YEAH! That part is awesome. U can hear him go cry out too. hehe.

Soarin' is one fun attraction. I went on the sneak preview in March before it opened & again this time around a few weeks ago.

They do a pretty good job making u feel like u are actually up there high in the sky....

That & I like the pre-show w/ Patrick Warburton...LOL...Puddy....Kronk...love both those characters.

I like when he calls the kids "your little aviators"... Warburton's got one of the best voices out there right now.

I rode Soarin' for the first time this weekend and my whole family loved it. Flying over Disneyland was awesome, as was the orange smell. And it was cool to see Patrick Warburton in the preshow.

I'm not sure whether you didn't smell the oranges in Soarin', you don't remember them from Horizons, or both. In Soarin', you fly over an orange grove right after the golf course. You briefly smell the oranges. In Horizons, it was in the desert scene. You overlooked a farm in the desert, and the orange smell was quite strong as I remember. Every time I use an orange scented cleaner (like Orange Glo) it reminds me of it.

The first time I visited EPCOT in '83, one of the things that impressed me the most was the use of smells in the attractions. There was the orange smell noted above, the prehistoric smells of Universe of Energy, and the smell of Rome burning in Spaceship Earth, among others. It really added a new dimension to the attractions.

PS - I think California oranges taste so much better than Florida oranges, but that's another topic.

I thought Soarin' was a good ride, but I would have liked to have seen a different version, flying over Florida or over the various countries in World Showcase. I thought it would have been cool to have it end flying in over Spaceship Earth and Illuminations.

I'm sure that in a few years, they will be refilming/refurbing the ride and that'll include at least part of the WDW resort (I'd think they'd fly over the Magic Kingdom during Wishes or the Spectromagic parade, being the first, main, and flagship park with the most identifiable icon).
