It did actually sound good, espeically if you were there during the busy times. I'm surprised Disney doesn't try to sell enhanced passes with it's vacation packages. As long as they keep a limit on it like they do with the front of the line "tour" they give or Universal's strict limit as well, then it wouldn't impact everyone quite as much.

I am in favor of the current fastpass distribution. I get a fastpass for one attraction, then get in line for a second attraction. By the time I am finished waiting in line, then going on the attraction that I waited on line for, it I'd time to use the fastpass. I basically have waited in line once, for two different attractions.

I would swear at one point in time, possibly only at DLR, there was some setup where you got your FP and then you could go get your next pass an hour later.

Oh, has anyone discovered if WDW has any un-networked machines like they have at DLR? For those that don't know what that means, there are FP distribution points that do not communicate their information to the rest of the machines.

Which, the passes or the un-networked machines?

I think all the major rides are networked at WDW. The shows may not be networked, like Fantasmic.

When the FP machines 1st became available, I was still living close then. They had no network time or time limit. You could go up to the machine and get as many passes as you wanted. They usually fell within 5 minutes of each other. That was a short lived adventure because people took advantage, myself included. They went to where you could only get 1 an hour. Now I don't know how it is set up. But before it was cool because you could get a pass, take a walk to another attraction and get a pass go to the first and ride it then go ride the second and so on.

I hate *HATE* the idea of paying for fastpasses like Universal does. I like the fastpass system like it is now, and I don't want it to change Maybe it isnt perfect, but I like it.

I totally agree. Maybe if I had oodles of money I would feel differently, but I like the current system. It seems more fair...

If I remember correctly they have two ways to do it. I think you can pay, or it might be included it you are a guest at one of their hotels. I will have to look it up and see.

Okay, from http://www.orlandofuntickets.com/FASTPA ... s-Pass.php

The Universal Orlando Resort also has a similar system to Disney’s FASTPASS, but there is one major difference. While Disney gives anyone the opportunity to pick up a FASTPASS, Universal only offers its Universal Express Plus Passes (which gives guests an exclusive line to bypass waiting for attractions) for free as a benefit to anyone who is a guest at one of their three on-site hotels; the Hard Rock Hotel, Portofino Bat Hotel and the Royal Pacific Resort. Don’t fret if you are not staying at the Universal Orlando Resort – you too can purchase this pass as an add-on to your regular tickets for an extra fee.

And from http://www.wdwinfo.com/universal/parkinfo/express.htm

Universal's Express Plus Express Ride Access allows you to bypass the lines for the more popular attractions. FREE Express Pass when you stay at Portofino Bay Hotel, Hard Rock Hotel or Royal Pacific Hotel. For Universal Resort guests, front of the line access is included with your resort stay.

When using the Universal Express Plus pass, you are free to ride whatever time you choose. Purchased passes can only be used once per attraction while Universal Resort guests have unlimited ride access (certain restrictions may apply during peak travel times.)

Universal Express PLUS Passes range in price from $19.99 to $55.99 + tax per person, per day, per park. (1/04/09 - $19.99). For a family of four, this could cost around $200 for one day at each park.

On-site hotel guests enjoy this benefit for FREE - a great value and allows you and your family to make the most out of your day!

I do not wish for any changes other than I'd like to be able to get fast passes as per smartphone.
