i'm new on here, but i'm an '04 CP Alumnist. Good luck on the interview, and as for tips; smile while you're interviewing. You're on the phone, but it still makes a difference. I still wish I could go back on the program, it was a big turning point for me.
Por favor mantenganse alejado de las puertas, and have a magical day here at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom.

My nephew just got his acceptance notification to the CP. He's very excited and can't wait till June! He thinks he's going to stay for a year. I just hope it doesn't kill he love for all things Disney.

My interview went good I think. I think I screwed up some answers but I always made sure I was completely honest and I made sure that I was ME throughout the whole interview, not once trying to sound like someone that wasn't me and I believed that's how I came across in the interview.

She asked me some behavioral types of questions, and she said that I would hear a response within' 2 weeks, and if they liked me, then I would have to schedule another interview which would be techincal questions to see if I'm capable of handiling the programs that will be used for this Internship.

Let's hope they like YOU. I do a fair amount of phone interviews with the company I work for. The biggest thing I look for is character and if this person is comfortable being themselves. The technical aspects are important of course, but if all we wanted was technical knowledge we would go to India. Best of luck and thanks for keeping us up to date on your progress! :D

While in line at the bank this morning, I was joking with one of the tellers and one of the loan officers about going to WDW on Friday. He commented on being a former CP member in 1998. He enjoyed the trip down memory lane as we talked about some of his favorite places. I told him he needs to go back since a lot has changed in the last 11 years.

Good Luck!

The College Program is coming to my school today and tomorrow and I'm going to try to talk to them tomorrow... I don't want to do the CP term but I want to work at WDW this summer so I don't know if they can help me. Does anyone know of a summer-only (June 15-September 15) CP?

The only Summer-Only CP is for Alumni College Program cast members so you would only be able to do the Fall or Spring CP if you wanted to do it.

one of my biggest regrets is not doing the college program when I was in undergrad...unfortunately..or maybe fortunately I had a full ride scholarship for football and it paid my way..so I couldnt take any time off..but now that I live in FL and Im earning my master's...I might just go right ahead and attempt a professional internship...lets see if I get called :)

Update:

So as you already know, I had my interview 3 weeks ago, on April 2nd and they said they would contact me within 2 weeks whether good or bad if they wanted to interview me again. Well I haven't received anything through e-mail or phone from them so I'm taking that no news is good news. So anytime I feel my phone vibrate, I jump for a second only to see it's a text message or a stupid phony car warranty phone number. I'm hoping for a phone call from a 407 area code soon!!

I read on another message board that someone called and asked about the Animal Programs Internships and they said that they are still going over their paperwork to determine their interns, and are still aiming for May 1st as their target date to finalize all of their decisions...so that is next friday...So that gets me thinking, wondering that either

1) They skipped the 2nd interviews, and are going to choose their interns based on well they did on their first interview and their credentials.

2) They weren't interested in me enough to do a 2nd interview and they forgot to send me a rejection e-mail

3) They lost my paperwork and didn't know how to contact me.

I really hope it's #1 and I hope I receive that phone call next week. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Just heard that the deadline for accepting/rejection potential PI Canditates has been pushed back to MAY 15th!!

I guess their really busy right now especially with all the restructuring that is going down there after the layoffs.

I will continue to be patient and keep you all updated.

Well May 1st is here and I got an e-mail and this is what it said:

FROM DISNEY'S ANIMAL PROGRAMS:

Dear Student,

We have received an overwhelming number of applications for our June 2009 internships, and we are still in the review process. Our apologies for the delay, but we will notify all candidates of our final decisions by May 11, 2009. Our original final decision date of May 1, 2009 will not be met because we are still reviewing applications. We want to ensure that every applicant’s file is carefully and fairly reviewed. We thank you for your patience and understanding. If you have any questions, please feel free to email us.

SOOOO another whole week to continue waiting. At least it looks like I'm still in the running. Keepin' those fingers crossed.
