Re: Refurbishment News
Those new hand dryers are more sanitary than paper towels and the old models, the old hand dryers would suck air from the dirty floors and blow it back onto your hands, ICK!!! The new ones do not.

Re: Refurbishment News
If I recall, they did test them and they were not as bad as old dryers but still not as clean as towels because they were still aerating the water on your hands. Paper towels spread area was much smaller because it goes into the towel.

Makes sense! I still prefer paper towels over the dryers! If there are no towels, I usually air dry my hands!Wizzard419 wrote:If I recall, they did test them and they were not as bad as old dryers but still not as clean as towels because they were still aerating the water on your hands. I would say use a cast member, but their uniforms appear to be made of polyester and not terribly absorbent.

And this fact surprises you because???boilerbabe wrote:Wizzard419 wrote:I would say use a cast member, but their uniforms appear to be made of polyester and not terribly absorbent.that's not very nice!

I'm pretty excited about more bathrooms going in at the American Pavilion ~ those lines were always so long back there!
And I like the Dyson airblades, although not as much once I found out about the whole bacteria spreading thing. They do dry your hands nicely though!

Wasn't the garden it partially removed one of the displays or something for the pavilion? Not exactly a huge loss, but I think there was supposed to be some significance behind it.

Only appears to be one of those airblades in the whole bathroom. Would much rather grab a couple paper towels and be on my way than sit with wet hands in a line waiting to dry them off.

A quick search didn't turn up any sort of significance for the gardens that I could find. The only thing I saw mentioned was the roses are all varieties named for US Presidents.Wizzard419 wrote:Wasn't the garden it partially removed one of the displays or something for the pavilion? I had noticed that as well GoldenBear. I would venture to say most guests would do the same.GoldenBear wrote:Only appears to be one of those airblades in the whole bathroom. Would much rather grab a couple paper towels and be on my way than sit with wet hands in a line waiting to dry them off.

Re: Refurbishment News
The weird thing about the outside of the bathrooms is that there are no benches. Does Disney expect people to sit on the bricks that border the garden?

I'm thinking people will be sitting on those little low walls that front the entire structure. Sort of built in benches...Cardinals314 wrote:The weird thing about the outside of the bathrooms is that there are no benches. Does Disney expect people to sit on the bricks that border the garden?

Re: Refurbishment News
There has been a change in the schedule refurbishment for Splash Mountain. Splash Mountain will now be closed through March 21st and will reopen on the 22nd. Supposedly the budget for the refurb has more than tripled. There are talks of changing all sensor arrays, all propulsion jets (water pumps) and all lift systems. All boats with have to be refitted (Anti-rollback dogs are different, etc) for the new lifts.
Also the Tomorrowland Speedway will be refurbished from January 6th through the 12th

I really think that I would rather skip the attraction all together...this would really take the fun out of it for meCardinals314 wrote:The Tiki Room as most of you know was planning for a refurbishment. The surprising news is that the area where the refurbishment work is currently being worked on in the room itself is walled off while the attraction is still operating for guests. Half of the room is walled off. This is so unlike Disney
