Looks familiar, Amy, but I can't place it. And, even though it's cute, I'm with the cranky folks on this one. I don't like seeing the monorail messed with, even for something cute.

IF the monorails did pass through the new carsland it would be appropraite, but as it is just openly marketing...

Better than that Avengers crap any day...Amy wrote:I saw this on Facebook ~ and it's in DL not WDW ~ but I think it's pretty darned cute! I'm guessing it is from Cars? Is that right?
I think that's something from Cars.

Re: Avenge the Monorail!!!
I love the monorails. As long as they keep running them I don't care how they decorate them. Just as long as the majority of them are in original colours I'm happy.
Although I have to say I prefer the Disneyland monorails in their cars paintwork. Sorry

Sorry to go off topic but I thought it was weird that the OP's link ( http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2 ... ld-resort/ ), which is for Disney Parks, has a giant pic of Mythos from IoA? Or is that the new-ish pizza place in Epcot? If it's the latter I think they really kinda stole Mythos' design hard.

Your link sends to an article about turkey legs. If you're talking about the ovens, then it's not really Universal's original idea to use a giant stone head.

That link led to a page about turkey legs
Not that I'm complaining, because hey, turkey legs are fun!
I'm late on this, but I LOVE The Avengers, and I thought the new wraps on the monorails were fun!

I see I'm virtually alone in my dislike for the monorail and in my refusal to watch the film.

Re: Avenge the Monorail!!!
Errr...I don't know how that happened. I literally C&Ped the URL after following the link. And yea I know that Universal isn't really being original either, but the color and material used, and even the actual sculpture itself all looked extremely similar to various facets of Mythos. Almost like they hired the same group to do it all.

Well, again, they didn't invent alabaster and marble.
Also, since most "imagineers" are not Disney employees but rather contract, it's not a shocker that they also do work for Universal.

So this is from a while ago... I wanted to say I agree, I think it looks terrible.
Also I'm going in two weeks, does anyone know if it is still on the monorail, or did they take it off? Hopefully gone.
