The prices really are outrageous. I think they have hyped them up so people on the dining plan feel they are getting a good deal. I know we paid $40 or so for lunch at Via Napoli and that only included a pizza and 2 desserts. I am already planning on forking over another $10 for those zeppoli though ~ they are soooooo tasty :goofy_bounce:

Oh my goodness ~ you all had the zeppoli?! I told my Mom that she needs to get her own order this time. She ate at least half of my order and told me I could have some of her apple dessert, but I didn't like the apple dessert  Since we just split a small pizza and drink water, we aren't too stuffed...

We will NEVER spend 2 dining credits anywhere when we could have had 2 dinners at Ohana (Which is AWESOME!!).

I agree, Ohana is awesome. I've never done the Dining Plan since we generally don't go for longer than 3 days at a time. But I want to try it out and see if it's worth it. I like to eat, so I am sure I could make it worth it.

We live on the Dining plan when at Disney-you get to eat at great places that we just can't in our circumstance at home (3 kids) but at Disney we get to eat at wonderful places on the dining plan as a family.

I stayed For 2 weeks and tried the Basic plan and Deluxe plan for 3 adults. With the deluxe plan we did room service acouple of mornings and 2 point dinner shows. With the basic plan we found it was right for basic eating. The meal plan is the best way to go.

Since a Disney vacation is usually more expensive than a typical vacation in the first place, my husband and I love the dining plan. Once we arrive at Disney, we just go and enjoy ourselves. No worrying about the food budget, wondering if splurging on this meal will short us on the last day, etc. We show up, have fun, eat, drink, and are very merry! The only thing we then have to worry about is the money we spend on souvenirs but really, we don't get much of that stuff except for pins. Our girls like to get bags or T-shirts but that's about it. With the dining plan we eat at restaurants we probably wouldn't try otherwise.

We're trying to keep track of the prices this time around. With the ddp your receipt lists our food but just shows $0.00 as the amount so you dot know what the "value" I'd unless you note the total that pops up on the register. The prices are truly amazing though - even for counter service  lots of food, but still..

Nope, the only receipt you receive lists the price of everything as $0.00. It was that way for us back last December as well.

It was like that for us last February as well Amy, maybe it is different for the full dining plan as opposed to Quick Service.
