There have been some times where I would have liked to have had a car to zip somewhere, but most of the time I am content to let the fabulous Disney CMs navigate through the traffic!
I'm glad you mentioned about the bus being available at DTD and TTC for getting to the outlet mall Len. I might have to try that sometime...
I guess I am a bit wierd... I actually love to drive... but I hate not being the drive.. I think it is the whole lack of control that always makes me nervous.. Also that's why I dont like roller coasters hehe
Yeah, I get the control thing. But for some reason, I can relax at Disney. Probably because I don't know how to drive a big old bus!
This is too funny JenMuse ~ I hope we end up at the same Sub meetup someday. You have a touch of mayhem in you don't you?

For the longest time, I was seriously looking forward to going by myself, but as the trip approaches, I kinda feel sad that I won't have anyone else along for the fun. But that's not entirely true, I'm going to meet up with an old school fellow who will be taking his family the same week--we haven't see each other in 20 years but thanks to facebook now we know we'll both be in WDW. And I'm meeting up with a knitter from ravelry (knitting website), so I'll have some companionship.
So maybe I'll have struck the right balance and all will go well...that is once I rebook my flights. Have to cancel the first part of my trip which was 3 days in the Grand Caymans since the friend I was going to stay with had to go back to Canada for an extended stay due to a medical condition. Hotels on that island, even the ones with zero amenities are out of my budget.

Bummer about missing the first part of your trip ~ but it sounds like you will have a nice balance of having some along time to do your own thing, and meeting up with old friends.

Driving around WDW is definitely busier than some people would think. There are exits just like on a highway and you should always be watching the signs. It seems every trip, at some point, we drive off property by mistake. We usually have the driver and then a bombadeer to watch the signs. After a while, it starts to be familiar so don't be discouraged.

A bombadeer? That's a new turn of a phrase for me

I just think it is so relaxing to have someone that knows where the heck they are supposed to be going do the driving! And I am very much a person that wants to be driving all the time normally, so that is something for me to be able to relax Disney transportation!

We usually end up doing the opposite. When trying to get off-site we end up circling EPCOT a time or two before figuring out which lane to be in!
I'm slightly worried I'll do both of these as I'll be staying at a different Hilton property than usual. But at least no one will be in the vehicle complaining or mocking me. And it's only 2-3 days of driving (depends on how tired I am from the red-eye I'm now taking to get to FL which I was able to rebook for only a $40 fee and switched departure airports so I don't have to drive to LAX, just Santa Barbara where parking in infinitely cheaper and 2 hours closer to home).
