I guess we'll know which is longer when both are all built and done.MadEye wrote:And you would be correct. The only differences between the two are the outside of the buildings (obviously) and one is a little longer, track wise, than the other (don't remember which one at the moment).Amy wrote:I believe it is supposed to be very similar to Disney California Adventures' Little Mermaid ~ and I hope that is the case, because that looks awesome from the previews so far!masterj345 wrote:it would be pretty awesome if they would throw in a roller coaster somewhere...so what is this ariel ride gonna be a dark ride?

Re: Fantasyland Expansion...
The purpose of the CoP is to show the progress of mankind. What they could do is just show the progress from generation to generation. So...you would have:timekeeper wrote:I love the idea of 3-d additions. I love the ride but Dd thinks its a torture to ride it, might be because I am humming the song all day after we finish it. They need to keep it current to keep an audience.Brian845 wrote: Now that's a good attitude! Rather than leaving it untouched, it would be great if they could renovate the ride. But animatronics might seem a little dated...how about animatronics for the 1900s scenes, and then 3D holograms for the future scene. That might really get people interested in it. If anyone could do 3D holograms, it'd be Disney...

1940s
1980s
Near Future
You don't have to get too fancy...just stick with the theme of progress and you have a winner. People watch it to see the family and to get that warm/fuzzy feeling when hearing and singing along with the song. Those who grew up in the 80s are now carrying their children to WDW...so having a scene that is set in the 80s would be a great thing. So with the 1900s and 1940s you would get the "way back when" taken care of along with the recent history of the 80s. This sticks with Walt's original design back in the 60s. Updating this ride, but keeping the progress theme, is vital to the life of Tomorrowland and Walt's vision of progress.

I think that's the same time periods I suggested a few posts back, theBIGyowski! Great minds think alike! No need to trick out the show, just update/renovate a new show using the same old theatre.

Update: Belle's/Gaston's (whichever you want to call it) is taking shape. Most of the buildings have their steel frames up.

Good to hear things are moving right along. Should start getting real interesting there with toon town closing in about a week and ultimately Dumbo should be going down in the not too distant future.MadEye wrote:Update: Belle's/Gaston's (whichever you want to call it) is taking shape. I can't find Dumbo on any closure list yet. What makes you think they're closing it down soon?Len90 wrote:Good to hear things are moving right along. I think it's an assumption on Len's part. Haven't heard anything about the current Dumbo closing.mindflipper wrote:I can't find Dumbo on any closure list yet. On a side note: I will be heading out to MTTF to say goodbye next week and I will be taking some pics.

Re: Fantasyland Expansion...
Just an assumption. I had heard rumors that it would be closed by Spring. Can't wait to see all the pictures. I do regret that my final tour of MTTF was during the night so my pictures aren't the best.MadEye wrote:I think it's an assumption on Len's part. Haven't heard anything significant but what I have heard is a bunch of stuff that contradicts what others have said. So, until I hear from Disney themselves, it is all up in the air. Personally, though, I hope it closes after they open (at least one side of) the new Dumbo area.Len90 wrote:Just an assumption. I had heard rumors that it would be closed by Spring. But I am going to MTTF because I know some here haven't had the chance to or their goodbye didn't go as planned.
