Honestly, I have not seen Soylent Green (though it's been on my list for quite some time now) as I am not a huge sci-fi fan (with a few exceptions of course) but I am aware of the plot.
I'm a musicals person anyhow, so it makes sense that Sweeney came to my mind first.
