Re: Going to WDW in October, Suggestions?
let me clarrify this story, as you assume my wife to not only be a drunkard, but the first and only to have the low class of revealing themselves at wdw. i never said she was drunk. she was neither stumbling nor slurring her words. i said too many of the oversized tumblers they serve this mixture in. for her, a person who rarely drinks, too many was 2. this is a large amount of liquid, especially when the liquid is bad. unfortunately she didn't notice it tasting bad, to the contrary, she thought it tasted good. after drinking them her stomach began to hurt. for this reason we left. our resort of choice is pofq. to get there from here we choose the bus to dtd so we can enjoy the night time boat ride on the sassagoula to round out our day. to add to her stomach, this particular bus ride was abnormally jerky, to the point i almost felt sick. then to make it even worse, when we finally arrived there was a back up at the bus stop so we had to sit for an additional five minutes before an opening was made available. she was ready to blow during the whole ride but kept it in. there's nothing worse than being focused on "that bathroom is right there" (or in this case the bushes) and being forced to wait longer. yet somehow, courteously to the other people on the bus, she managed it. i'm not sure how you've been lucky enough to never witness a drunk at wdw, but i'm happy for you. neither of us have ever stumbled through these parks, yet certainly over the years we have seen our share of people who clearly drank too much at epcot and especially dtd. now, the original point of the post...would we ever go back to jellyrolls again? no. i did not drink this drink, and my stomach was fine. so for myself and my wife, we would be afraid to consume anything hand made by this establishment. this was a bashing of jellyrolls that i did not want to offer up, but on someone's assumption that i'm passing on fun drunk stories on a disney website i obviously need to be more specific with more detail.Mr.ToadWildRider wrote:"
Well to be fair, if anything it sounds as though you, or at least your wife, enjoyed Jelly Rolls TOO much![]()

I actually can't believe I've never seen someone puke at Disney. You'd think with all the rides and in places like EPCOT where I've definitely seen people heavily imbibing (I've been there once while "drinking around the world") I've never seen anyone throw up. As a matter of fact I've never really seen anyone drunk either, though maybe in the Crown and Rose there were probably a few...

We do have the dining plan, thanks for the Piano Bar tip. And thanks for the 2TS tip on Flying Fish!nicklesm17 wrote:the dinner buffet/"clambake" isn't bad at the yacht club. don't recall if you ended up getting the dining plan or not. they did just recently (this week) offer a new set of dates for a new free dining offer. it is available for dates from early october (2010) thru next (2011) september. otherwise at boardwalk, the bell vue lounge supposedly offers coffee/pastries in the a.m., drinks in pm. with a 1930's ambience and old radio shows. thought about checking this one out myself during our upcoming october trip. we usually stop by boardwalk one night to just walk around. we've done the dueling pianos in the past and were not overly impressed. there's better ways to spend your time.Chernabog wrote:Big news, we have upgraded to the Boardwalk Villas!! If anyone has any info that is helpful and/or we can take advantage of while staying at this location, please let me know! We are going in early Oct.
I know we are walking distance from EPCOT & maybe HS, I know we are next to Yacht & Beach Club, I am aware odf Beaches & Cream. Any other helpful hints, suggestions, would be greatly appreciated!!

We leave Monday! Can't wait! (Well, actually I can, it is coming fast & even though I have done plenty of prep, I feel like I can do more & wish I had more time!) Mickey's NSSHP on Tuesday, Food & Wine, staying at the Boardwalk Villas, should be a great time! I'm open to last minute suggestions. Wish us smooth flights & great weather!

I hope you have a great time! This should be a really nice time weather and crowd-wise for you to be there and enjoy everything WDW has to offer. I'll be interested in hearing what you thought of Mickey's NSSHP since I've never beem.Chernabog wrote:We leave Monday! Can't wait! Here's a suggestion, do as minimal planning as possible. Sometimes the best trips are the ones that aren't overly planned. Just wing it, follow your kids around and have fun!!!

Re: Going to WDW in October, Suggestions?
This is a good hint! I have been freaking out a bit since everyone on here is so well organized and has a plan. I normally don't do much until I look at a park map when we get there to see when the nighttime shows are scheduled. I've been trying to be a little more organized and plan ahead some but this is a good reminder to not be too stressed!davea61 wrote:Here's a suggestion, do as minimal planning as possible. Re: Going to WDW in October, Suggestions?
My 3rd time at Mickey's NSSHP and it was terrific! The Headless Horseman slowed down this time, which was good and bad. We could see him better but it was much cooler when he went flying by! They changed the parade, which was great! It use to be very cutesy w/few cool floats, MUCH better now!! They also had a cast member dressed as a 'no longer w/us' Southern Belle sitting on a bench on the lawn of the HM, very fun touch! The fireworks were OK (no tinkerbell/witch??) They also had Cinderella's carraige out & you could take pictures in front of it which was perfect since my Mom loves Cindy & my daughter was dressed as her & had an earlier visit to the BBBoutique! I still highly reccommend it!!!!Amy wrote:I hope you have a great time! This should be a really nice time weather and crowd-wise for you to be there and enjoy everything WDW has to offer. Re: Going to WDW in October, Suggestions?
I am a hardcore planner, but I did sort of wing it (as best as my brain would allow me!). I knew where what park we were going to & what meals we were having. Outside of that, it was just go & follow the kids! The one thing I never did and HIGHLY reccomend is Team Possible missions in the WS. I did them w/my 7 yr old son and they were terrific!! He really got into them and I loved every second! We did all 7 countries! (I know there are more then 7 countries but there are only 7 that participate in Team Possible.)davea61 wrote:Here's a suggestion, do as minimal planning as possible.
