Andy. Welcome to the US! Your picture of your Walmart shopping carts gave me a good giggle! I think I am the only person born and raised in the US that has never been to a Walmart! Looking forward to your posts!

Welcome to the U.S.!

Wal-Mart(or Super Target) will probably be your best friend. It's open 24 hours, and the busses take you right there(up until 2am, I think)!

Keep us posted!

Whee. Just finished the first day of registration and the like, which all went well. The room we were in in the Commons for the presentations this morning was absolutely freezing cold, though.. It was a relief to get back outside into the heat!!

The only bit that didn't go to plan was the registration for the cast portal, which me and a couple of others were told to go back on Thursday, since someone messed up our details on them :(

The rest of the people in our arrival group got here a little later in the day yesterday, and some of us met up for a quick bite to eat in the House of Blues in Downtown Disney, and then we had a nice little wander round. There's a few photos I took on my site now at http://www.andrewpoole.org.uk/disney/photos/dtd1/

At the moment, nothing is planned for tonight, although I might go for another wander round Downtown Disney and see the bits that I didn't see last night.. And see if I can find a nice enough looking lanyard to put my property ID in :)

Andy.

Edit:Quick photo update from this afternoon, which I spent wandering round Downtown Disney. http://www.andrewpoole.org.uk/disney/photos/dtd2/ - They're slightly better quality than last night's :)

Andy. Off back to Downtown Disney shortly for an evening at PI.

Good morning!

I'll adjust to the time difference soon and stop getting up stupidly early.. Just in time to need to get up early for Traditions, or something...

I don't know how I woke up so early today, I didn't get back from a night out at Pleasure Island until 2am this morning :? We started off in BET Soundstage, which was a bit empty, so we headed out again a short time later to the Adventurer's Club. We didn't go through the show stuff because by the time we got there, they couldn't fit us in the room without splitting us up (there were 5 of us and they'd have to have put us as two 2s and a 1, and we didn't want to put someone on their own), so we moved on to 8Trax, where we found some of the other people from our program and stayed for a while before moving along again to the Beach Club for a short time before I left to catch the bus back to Vista Way (the others are staying elsewhere so were getting a later bus).

Today involves some more registration and paperwork, I think. The welcome booklet thingie they gave us says we find out where we work on day 2, but I'm not sure if we will or not. I did, however, see on one of the registration sheets yesterday something like "Quick Serv F&B Outdoor", so I might be outdoors somewhere :o Will have to wait and see!

I am very excited to read about your experience. I hope I will be doing this a year from now.

Was there a live band playing at the Beach club? I saw them in August and they were a real good cover band, I just forgot their name, does anyone know their name at all?
I know this is probably your first flight...and it's mine too...ha, ha

Evening all. Just returned from an hour or so at Epcot - my first WDW park :D

We didn't get there until late, but we did ride Test Track and Soarin' before watching Illuminations. I've put some photos on my site at http://www.andrewpoole.org.uk/disney/photos/epcot/ although some of them are blurry. I'm going to download a copy of the manual for my camera so that I can work out how I can change the mode it uses so it can take photos of lit up things in the dark without having to use the slow shutter mode that makes it go all blurry.

I've got a few short videos of Illuminations that I took with my camera, however I don't think I've got enough webspace to be able to put them on my website. I'll have to have a think of how I can solve this.

I've put one of the short videos from Illuminations on my site at http://www.andrewpoole.org.uk/disney/mi ... ations.avi for the time being. We were standing towards the back of the showcase plaza, but still had a fairly good view of the show.

And finally, I now know where I'll be working. I'll be working in Outdoor Foods in Disney-MGM Studios.

Cheers,

Andy.

try putting the video(s) on youtube.com or something like that. once you have it hosted there, you can actually get a code to embed the video/player on your website.

BTW, love the pics. I'm snagging some of them to use for desktop wallpapers.

Awesome Andy, seems like you're having a good time. But you missed my post where you need to get shots of yourself and friends in them. We've all seen pictures of the attractions before. How can we be sure you're really there? :)
