I'm not sure of the "Half-throttle" or "Full-Throttle" variations. from what I understand, they reduced the G-Force from 2.0 to something like 1.8. nothing greatly noticable. That's the ORANGE team. outside of that, they dedicated 2 sims to a non-spinning version. Nicknamed the "GREEN team" the sims just lean backwards , shake, and leans forwards.

No only two versions, green and orange. Green does not spin. Orange spins, but not as fast as it once did. Two people died after riding the attraction, no one dies on Disney property. And yes, the green team is lame.

I have really only once had an issue with Mission:Space. It was the first time I rode the ride and it was still in its original 2-g version. I rode twice in a row and was dizzy with a headache for a little bit afterwards, but that is all. I really don't think it is as exciting now that they reduced the g forces. But then I am a thrill seeker, still waiting to go sky-diving...for some reason I can't find anyone to go with me. I mean its perfectly safe being 30,000 feet in the air with nothing to keep you from smashing into the Earth but some rope and a thin piece of fabric. Oh well someday.

The buildup is great - I think it reduces the ridership by at least 10% by psyching people out of it hearing all the precautions over and over again. It got my wife to bail the first time. I then convinced her it was worth going on.....was the last time she spoke to me that day.

The warnings almost caused me to chicken out back in 2004, before the Orange Team/Green Team stuff. I know Disney has to cover themselves liability-wise, but it's a little comical how every few feet there are big foreboding signs that say "WARNING: If you have ever experienced vertigo, nausea, motion sickness, sleepy sickness, fear of heights, fear of depths, fear of falling, fear of not falling, fear of spinning, fear of coming to a complete stop, or fear of people who jump out at you and say BOO!, then you should go home and hide under your bed right now. We mean it. This means YOU!"99Soulz wrote: The buildup is great - I think it reduces the ridership by at least 10% by psyching people out of it hearing all the precautions over and over again.
When I was a kid, the only sign you ever saw on rides like that was the one that said "You must be this tall to ride". I guess that being taller than the sign rendered you legally incapable of suing them if you got killed or something. They must have changed the law.

I'm currently under the influence of some powerful cold medication (yay nyquil!), so I can't put into words how funny I found this. I laughed for a good 5 minutes...Future Guy wrote:I know Disney has to cover themselves liability-wise, but it's a little comical how every few feet there are big foreboding signs that say "WARNING: If you have ever experienced vertigo, nausea, motion sickness, sleepy sickness, fear of heights, fear of depths, fear of falling, fear of not falling, fear of spinning, fear of coming to a complete stop, or fear of people who jump out at you and say BOO!, then you should go home and hide under your bed right now.
