It could use some techonology upgrades (so can Peter Pan too for that fact)...Amy wrote:The latest I read is they might be closing Snow White's Scary Adventures to make room for an updated or even entirely new ride...I am conflicted on this since I really like the attraction now, but it could be much, much better. Or much, much worse if Imagination has anything to do with the re-doHas anyone else heard anything? I don't think they are planning anything until the Fantasyland expansion is completed or near completion though...

Re: Fantasyland Expansion...
Closing Snow White down would make sense if the rumors about a Dwarf Mine roller coaster entering the Fantasyland plans are true. It wouldn't be wise to have two rides on the same movie. I hope they announce the new plans soon.
What ride would people like to see take the place of Snow White if this were to happen? I wouldn't be opposed to bringing back Mr. Toad...

Mr. Toad would be nice but won't happen.NaCler wrote:Closing Snow White down would make sense if the rumors about a Dwarf Mine roller coaster entering the Fantasyland plans are true. It wouldn't be wise to have two rides on the same movie. I hope they announce the new plans soon.

I didn't get any photos, but I must say that the construction really did ruin my Fantasyland experience. I think Disney should be able to do better than the blue walls. You can see skeletons of the buildings going up now, it really looks bad.
When we return in Dec. I will be spending minimal time here.

Meh. I've learned to ignore it. Then again, I go to the parks a lot more than most on the boards.boilerbabe wrote:I didn't get any photos, but I must say that the construction really did ruin my Fantasyland experience. BTW, was there any progress on the "new" roof for the Mad Tea Party?

It's hard to ignore, especially with all of the construction noise going on, really ruins the Magical feeling.MadEye wrote:Meh. I've learned to ignore it. They were working on the Mad Tea Party, they had it covered well, hard to see what they were doing under there!

I will say that from back in July the Fantasyland walls are a bit annoying. However, you have to walk around knowing that things will be 10x better than they were before once all the work is done.

Oooo, nicely played mindflipper! Re: Fantasyland Expansion...
Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow only made sense in the context of the original Carousel of Progress...where at the end you see that you can take advantage of advances in technology today. When that portion of the attraction was not used at WDW (and most likely DL) it just left you hanging with having to wait for the future. This is why General Electric got Disney to write another song that told the guests "Now Is the Time" so they would go and buy the nice new things from GE. Remember that the attraction itself was really just to promote GE at the World's Fair.Amy wrote:Oooo, nicely played mindflipper! Re: Fantasyland Expansion...
there is a cut through next to this ride, that shoots you straight to tomorrowland, kind of a shortcut for those of us with kids who don't want to get sidetracked to toontown. anyway, last week or the week before, one of the days we were there, they roped this short channel off. it stank to high heaven of spray paint (high powered like they use at bodyshops). the next visit the ropes were gone, it was passable. were they painting the roof? i can't see anyone getting hit with paint if they were painting the tea cups, justifying a need to block that lane. your guess is as good as mine. i can't say this is overly helpful info, but if you really crave news, i suppose some info is better than none. at any rate, if they were painting the roof, paint signifies near completion. even if more than one coat is required, painting is the final step after necessary repairs. so the guess here would be that it's nearly done?MadEye wrote:BTW, was there any progress on the "new" roof for the Mad Tea Party?
Re: Fantasyland Expansion...
Are you referring to the Tea Cups themselves or the ride? If it is the Cups themselves, they take the Cups to Central Shops behind the Kingdom to do any work on them. Sometimes holding them in the area that is now where The Little Mermaid is being built.nicklesm17 wrote:i can't see anyone getting hit with paint if they were painting the tea cups, justifying a need to block that lane.
Anyway, what I was referring to is the supposed "new" roof that you can see in the concept art released last year in the announcement of the Expansion. Some people out there deny a new roof is being put up but the fact that they are working on it right now is interesting.
