Re: Fantasyland Expansion...
There definitely has to be vertical construction going on in those places. Where the cranes are set-up are the places I saw foundations poured when I was there during the first of July.

Does anyone know if there's going to be any expansion of the Utilidor network underground as part of this construction?

Good question.... almost seems like it would be needed, doesn't it? Maybe that's why the "visible" work seems to be so slow right now...? They might be working on the below-ground stuff...?mindflipper wrote:Does anyone know if there's going to be any expansion of the Utilidor network underground as part of this construction?

That is an interesting thought. I would guess they aren't going to expand the utilidors though...isn't Toontown on the fringes of the park anyhow?Mousekedude wrote:Good question.... almost seems like it would be needed, doesn't it? Doubt it, but we will see. Seing as how the foundation for TLM is at ground level it would seem not likely. But the Beauty and the Beast area doesn't seem to have a set foundation for any of the buildings and for all we know that vertical construction I've seen could be for some tunnels under the area of expansion.mindflipper wrote:Does anyone know if there's going to be any expansion of the Utilidor network underground as part of this construction?
But like I said: time will tell.

Under one of those Dumbo ride pictures it says the ditch pictured is supposedly a cast member access tunnel. So, I guess the rumor is that there will be some underground extensions.

Re: Fantasyland Expansion...
OK, here's the scoop. Disney is "NOT" building new utilidors. What they are doing is replacing a CM entrance that goes to the locker rooms. It's an old entrance that was taken out when construction was started and they had to rebuild.

Pretty cool to see a new building going up. I can feel the excitement mounting already! It looks like the best shot for pictures in the coming months will be the second floor of the Village Haus.
Just some updates on things going on:
Permits have been filed for Pooh to have an interactive queue and some work on the barnstormer.
The big crane in those pictures I believe appeared around the day of the pictures and is going to play a big role in the vertical construction

It's nice to see some progress, but let's not get too excited yet. There's still alot more that needs to be done. I'm curbing my enthusiasm until more progress has been done...

I'd have to agree with you mindflipper. It is still a long way from being done. But it is fun to see things start to take a little shapemindflipper wrote:It's nice to see some progress, but let's not get too excited yet. There's still alot more that needs to be done.
