I would guess WDW would have no problem axing the show if they need the space for their new (rumored) expansion. There are a limited number of shows a day, lots of CMs required to help load and unload. The stunt people are probably paid a bit more than the average CM (I would hope!) and the cars and other vehicles in the show require gasoline to run, not to mention the pyrotechnics and fire effects. And it just sits empty and doesn't encourage any sort of spending on food or souvenirs when there is not a show running. And since the show is an import from DLP, they didn't spend a ton of money putting the show together just for DHS. And while you might have some die hard fans that want to see the show multiple times during their visit, I would guess most guests go to the show once, and don't feel the need to return to see it again in the same trip, and possibly not on the very next visit either.

This.
I enjoyed it the first time I saw it, but really don't have the desire to see it again. Not to say that I won't, but definitely not a destination. Beauty and the Beast show, Fantasmic, etc. I would watch multiple times, but LMA is kind of a one trick pony that doesn't necessarily have a "Disney" feel to it.

Mouskedittos. My sister took her kids on it our last trip, but that's because my nephew REALLY wanted to go. You know how kids are. No one else was interested in seeing the same thing.

Don't forget insurance as well since stuff can go wrong.
Disney does seem to rely heavily on shows at WDW. In some cases it seems like some of the live shows have hourly performances.

There are a lot of rumors that are spreading from inside sources about DHS. Right now, the current rumor is that Star Wars land has been given priority in DHS. Backlot Express as well as Indiana Jones Stunt show will be gone for the expansion. It's still a bit uncertain about Muppets. Also, American Idol experience is rumored to close in the spring or summer of 2014 for a new attraction. Thirdly, it is rumored that Beauty and the Beast will be gone sometime next year as well. There are also faint rumors about the obnoxious hat being removed, but there is no timetable on that.

Wow! It will be interesting to see what all really does happen with DHS! I would not be sad to see Indiana Jones go....I've felt they have needed to do something with that for years! I would be shocked to see Beauty and the Beast go since they built that pavilion for it! We've never seen the show, but I understand it's popular. As long as they leave my ToT alone!!!

I do hope the Muppets can stay. They are one of our favorites! I can see them bringing in a new stage show where Beauty and the Beast is currently, although that show still seems to be fairly popular and full whenever we are there. The Backlot Tour won't be missed, but if they close the restaurant we will be sad. They have good sandwiches there and it is always nice and cool. I do hope the Hat moves too. I don't dislike it, but I don't like that it obscures the nice view of the theater behind it. Plus I like the MGM water tower better as the park's icon

People inside Disney are saying that Disney is looking to make a splash with its park news relating to Star Wars on both coasts and that it will happen sooner rather than later. I don't know why but I keep thinking the two-year anniversary of the stalled Avatar project would be the perfect time.

I will be looking forward to an expansion and/or facelift to Hollywood Studios! I remember "MGM Studios" being such a cool and magical place 20 years ago with a lot of charm! One of my favorite things to do was as simple as buying an old movie poster at Sid Cahuenga's, and the Backlot Tour was really fun and awesome. Unfortunately now we usually give the Backlot Tour a miss, it's kind of lame. Hopefully we will hear an announcement soon!!

I do five things at DHS: ToT, RnR, Midway Mania, Muppets, and the Disney Junior Show (for my son). An expansion would be very welcome in my book.

More than anything...DHS needs to have some kind of consistent charm or theme that connects everything together. What we've seen is most of the charm die away in favor for fragmented areas of interest. The most telling example of this is GMR...which used to be the embodiment of the park and is now hidden from view and is being neglected.

I think it has more to do with they chose a really bad idea for a theme, film production, and ended up with such a heavily dated park that it became unfeasible to keep it modern without bankrupting the park itself.

Dave Fisher, show producer of the Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Pavilion, hinted today in an interview with Disney blogs about upcoming projects that will be presented at D23. Here is an excerpt from the interview as well as the link to read the entire article
"We’re also going to be doing sneak peeks at upcoming projects – including Disney Springs, the reimagining of Downtown Disney at Walt Disney World Resort. There will be teasers for new attractions based on Avatar and Star Wars that we’re working on now for the Disney Parks" - Dave Fisher
http://blogs.disney.com/insider/article ... mpossible/
I remember a couple weeks back when I posted an interview where either Fisher or another spokesperson said that there were going to be no new park announcements at D23. Since then, Disney was on a big hiatus about D23. Disney needs this year's D23 to be a success and they need every good piece of publicity for it. When it was announced that no new projects were going to be introduced, Disney began to worry about attendance and hype. It's good now that it seems like the Star Wars announcement will be at D23

I see Avatar is confirmed to be still in development.
I still don't expect major park announcements at the convention for star wars, possibly attraction updates or small stuff but not a whole land.
